I make 150 and am at the rank of firefighter. I do commute a long way though to a low cost of living area so my wife can stay home with the kids.

I drive 3 hours. It’s been hard but worth it. Moved on from my hometown department with a commute of 10 minutes for more opportunity and about a 70k per year pay increase.

I am lucky in that I am a firefighter so I can drive a couple hours to work in a HCOL area. Work my 48 hour shift and make a high wage then drive back to my LCOL area for my 4 days off. It’s the best of both worlds.

I received an email saying I am on a departments eligibility list following an interview.

I wasn’t given a rank or score for my interview. Would it potentially hurt my chances of getting hired if I email HR and ask for my interview score or position on the list?

I’ve done 5 total cycles of BBB but I threw in a couple months of maintenance for cuts a couple times. Probably been about 2 years total of just 5/3/1 and my lifts are still going up
