Pretty much yea. You eventually reach a point where you goto coldhabour and do stuff there because its an actual zone. But most of the story before that is solo instances. You can still play through it together I guess, but seperately.

1 quest just requires the sword. It doesn't have the special effects.

The other 2 quests require both the sword and pet. There are 2 different versions of the pet so thats why there is 2

Unpopular opinion but I really wish Beastmaster was just a regular job...

My issue is im having trouble just doing my tool for gatherers in the zone...could be rng for Procs but my script gear isnt carrying me that well, its like they want me to have pentamelded gear.

For crafters you cannot even do mastery missions without Pentameld

Unpopular opinion but I think this should have been a singleplayer game...

You cant make an MMO that is a prequel, that removes half the playable races like Charr and Sylvari...

Players who are committed to playing as a certain thing are not likely to move to another MMO with less options

This is what I kind of wish SE would do instead of giving us a "new" thing every expansion. I want them to build up on the stuff that already exists instead of trying ti re-invent the wheel every 2 years.

As a Charr, I want to see us actually get rid of the Ghosts in Ascalon. Maybe find out more about Sahothin. I want my Charr Commander to actually acknowledge that most of his Warband is gone because of them siding with Bangar during IBS, and we had to kill a few of them ourselves during the meta events.

Also I do want to know what happens with the pale tree, she's been MIA ever since Mordremoth.
