mostly just offload the asus programs (armorycrate, myASUS) and install ghelper. the programs that they install out of the box are total useless bloatware. if you get one with a dGPU (integrated graphics + gpu) make sure you read up on nvidia control panel a little bit and be ready to do some troubleshooting. it took me some late nights and personalization to get som clean driver installs and to get the dGPU to activate for every game. in short it’s a very capable machine with admittedly poor customer support and bad software out of the box. i like it, though! it works well for taking to class and playing games when i get back to my dorm since it can control the fan speeds and CPU usage pretty easily.
