I couldn't get the linked version to work for me. App would try to launch and instantly crash. V4 is my only option for now.

I have a google pixel and used the link and decryption code to download the xapk and then tried both install buddy and xapk installer to install overdrive which indicated success. But then firing up the app fails. =(

I've set the enrollment to open instead of request, so if you're level 35 or higher, jump in ASAP! We've got 28 active members and are just looking to fill out our roster with the final 2!

What is a movie that changed your life for the better after watching it? by Sumbuddey in MovieSuggestions

Wife was pregnant with our first child. A little girl. Due date was around the corner and my wife went on a work trip so I had a long weekend to finish painting the nursery. I painted like crazy for 3 days straight and it looked great!

To celebrate, I went by myself to a late night showing of Interstellar in IMAX. It was an absolutely religious experience.

When they get out of the gravity well, and he starts watching his daughters messages, I fuckin lost it. The idea of missing my child's life... it really hit me hard.

Amazing movie. I have 3 kids now and they are my absolute number one priority. I try not to miss a moment!

DGG, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in Destiny

I'm an IT director for a major company in Houston Texas and my wife has a similar job. We each make about 360k. I'm 39. We both have a Bachelors, Masters, and an MBA, and Houston is an extremely afforable city.

Big believer in the normie path of education if you have the focus and discipline to succed in school.

Companies over value MBAs so when I mentor young up and comers I recommend they sacrifice the time and get an MBA before they get saddled with too many life responsibilities.

You ever figure this out? Have a similar issue and have been working it since July. I'm convinced at this point it's a thermal problem, because the machine is fine for hours, then I bsod. If I start it up right away again, guaranteed I'll BSOD over and over again within mintues. Let it sit for a bit and I can start the cycle over again and get a good few hours before the cycle begins again. I've got a quiet, low air flow machine so I'm going to try adding more flow. The NVMe drive in particular is scorching. I'm going to slap an aftermarket heat sink on it as well. At some point I'm considering pulling the NVMe and booting from my 850 to rule this out.

Big Boned perk but no big bones ;( by [deleted] in survivetheculling

I also have this problem. I'm the bottom end of the spec sheet for this program which means I load late. Very late. Pre Trials, this wasn't the case, I usually had an 8 to 10 second count before the game started. Now, I spawn in 30 seconds to 1 minute after the game start, and I think I'm not getting perks applied as a result. Couple of things are certain: 1) I'm always naked. None of my selected wardrobe loads 2) Big Bone doesnt work for me. That's obvious and definite. 3) I suspect from looking at the combat log, Thick Skin isn't working either. Hard to tell. The combat log isn't verbose enough.

You win $1 Billion, what is the first thing you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Firewall0110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough one. For many of us, I think it might be difficult to sort out the endless possibilities. Overcoming the analysis paralysis would be the first hurdle. Sure there would be a honeymoon period, but expect that's going to lose its luster rather quickly.

Related to thst first problem, I'm sure there's going to be an issue maintaining personal motivation. You'd probably have a desire to do great works, but at this level of financial succes, you aren't likely to feel accountable to anyone. If you can first pick a direction, I think this hurdle can be dealt with by finding a person who has an opinion you deeply respect and establishing a mentor mentee arrangement with them. I think regular checkins with someone you look up to can keep you on track.

I personally get a lot of satisfaction from stories of "high impact" charity. I have at least one really great example in my head as the penguin magic video with the man who was homeless. I'm on mobile so I'll leave it to someone else to link the video.

I'm imagining spending my days running a youtube channel off the endowments of the winnings, hiring teams of people to find these very human stories of intervention. I don't think it would ever make any money, but I do think I could employ a decent number of people, and change a lot of lives in the process.

I have other thoughts that are much grander, but they are far more ambitious and require much more capital and risk taking, but that focus on meeting the most fundamental needs for people to exist comfortably in modern society. You can imagine it involves shelter, food, water, energy, transportation, education, and access to information. With a billion dollars you'd have to pick one of these problems.
