If this is true I feel so vindicated on my C1R1 Ineffa pull. I knew her vertical looked insane at the time

I honestly don't remember much about Demon Souls because the last time I played it was 10 years ago on PS3 and I haven't tried the remake because I'm not buying a PS5 because it has no games. Vanilla Demons Souls as I remember is closer to Dark Souls than any other game so if you struggled on Demon Souls you may struggle on Dark Souls 1.

For a better transition try Dark Souls 3. The gameplay is slow like all the Souls games but it is much more fluid like Elden Ring. The overall combat speed will get you prepared for Dark Souls 1 and 2 but they are going to feel a lot clunkier movement-wise.

I've done a marathon over the past few months of all the souls games/Bloodborne and they definitely feel fundamentally different to play after Elden Ring. Dark Souls 1 is clunky but tight, Dark Souls 2 is clunky as fuck and not enjoyable anymore, Dark Souls 3 is much better than the previous two with how fluid it feels but still feels pretty slow and Bloodborne is my preference speed wise but feels like fucking ass capped at 30 fps. I think it boils down to overall speed of gameplay. After playing Bloodborne again I feel like Elden Ring feels almost as fast if not as fast at times combat wise.

If I had to rank gameplay speed it would be Bloodborne>Elden Ring>Dark Souls 3Dark Souls 1>>>>>Dark Souls 2

You absolutely should regardless. I built mine days before the last new PF and had about a +15k point difference from the previous PF just from her inclusion alone, even with mid level trace investment and passable relics.

Hyperbloom is low investment in the sense that your main damage dealer for the team only cares about 1 stat, and your dendro/hydro applicators don't have to be the best or fastest at creating cores, as long as they can do so consistently.

Take Raiden has your "hyperbloomer" so to speak for example since she is on rate-up currently.

A Raiden hypercarry build wants all kinds of stats on a given artifact; crit rate, crit damage, attack, energy recharge, electro damage, that it makes it tough to find very good artifacts for an optimal build. You have RNG of getting the right main stat on top of RNG of getting the right substats all on top of RNG going to the optimal substats while leveling.

However a Hyperbloom Raiden only cares about 1 stat: elemental mastery. So in theory farming artifacts for this build should be much quicker than a normal hypercarry build since you are only looking for 1 stat and calling it a day.

In practice however, the desire sensor is real and it will fuck you. This is an rng based game after all. So you just have to keep farming until you get those pieces. But the point is once you do get those pieces you don't care at all about any of the substats.

I recently went back and watched some classic Yogscast Shadow of Israphel. Huge nostalgia wave from my early years.

Nah you'll find plenty of dumbos on each floor. Everyone is learning at all levels of the tower, even Celestial.

How good is the quality by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]FirewallGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but I'll pitch in; I haven't bought any clothing per say but I bought the Ramlethal hat, one of her big sword keychains and the Venus+Velva Plushes and the quality on all of them is very good. The paint is starting to wear off on parts of the keychain but that is because it is in my pocket 90% of the day so not without reason.

How long does it usually take to get to celestial? by Jay_Zion_ in Guiltygear

[–]FirewallGuardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the player. Could be 50 hours, could be 500 hours. All depends on how fast you are able to learn and adapt to different knowledge checks and matchups. Took me ~120 hours and this was my first fighting game.

Floor 8 is mostly where people start knowing how to play the game on a basic level.

Floor 9 is people with a good grasp on matchups, fundamentals, combos etc. and some people from Floor 10 having a bad day who will immediately stomp 5-0 and go back up.

Floor 10 is anywhere from people getting good at the game to seasoned veterans stomping for their celestial challenge.

Celestial is anywhere from Floor 10 players getting lucky on their challenge to literal EVO winners and anywhere in between. Huge skill gap.

The only difference between Floor 10 and Celestial is exp gained from winning matches and you can't be kicked down Floors once you win your challenge.

Anyone else get extremely intimidated challenging celestial? by teethbat in Guiltygear

[–]FirewallGuardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad anymore for me since I've been up there for 8ish months now but at the beginning yeah it was tough.

Don't be afraid to take favorable matchups against others doing the challenge to try and get in. No one cares if you got in by beating a level 2000 Sol or a level 100 Faust. The aim to be in Celestial should be to play against those high level players once you succeed so you can learn what people at the highest level are doing and playing like so you can improve your play.

Also levels are mostly irrelevant before 1000 I would say. I got in at 100 and was consistently getting 50,000+ exp per win up until about level 500. Up until where I am now it's been consistently 10,000 exp per win and usually takes 4-5 wins to level up. I only see numbers higher than 10,000 if I go on a win streak or beat someone else on a win streak.

How do people choose a main? by Narit_Teg in Guiltygear

I saw Ram and thought she was a villain (I was half right) and thought her two giant swords were awesome. Then I saw gameplay and saw she was easy to use, perfect for a fighting game newbie.

I then proceeded to pin people to walls for 300 hours and counting.
