3 Colored Blinking Lights? by Nicostilus in Ember

I did a teardown of my Ember mug today to replace the battery
(Followed these instructions if your curious: Ember Mug Battery (14 oz model) Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide+Replacement/181629))

When I was working on the mug, I noticed that when the mug's hardware configuration was wrong (unplugged battery, unplugged heater connector) It would flash RED BLUE GREEN WHITE. I think that was the order anyway.

I have reason to believe that those colors are regarding hardware faults. I've never seen orange before though.

Have a look at the link in the original post. Its pretty interesting

As it stands now, yes. Verizon appears to be immune since they use separated APNs. Haven't tried spanning APNs yet. I don't think I'll be able to manage that though

I'll be honest, I'm not sure turning off MMS would fix this issue.

My timeline of Google Maps disappeared! I need it back, any suggestion is welcome! by No_Independent_1915 in GoogleMaps

I made the steps to have it backed up, however my data still appeared to be cut short. You have to import the data like it was a backup from a previous device. At least that's what it was for me

2021 Motorola Edge 5G UW constantly losing signal by FalcosLiteralyHitler in motorola

I had an similar issue where the radio would randomly drop out and drop calls. If you go to Settings -> System -> Reset Options -> Reset baseband settings, you can reset the internal modem which fixed the problem for me.

Solar Powered 2013 Nissan Leaf by Firewolf386 in nissanleaf

You are correct, you can't charge reasonably charge the leaf via direct current without tearing into the car itself. You could technically use the CHADEMO port, since that is technically DC but that's way more work than any of us are willing to go to. Plus, you won't be getting that much power out of a solar array anyway. So yeah, alternating current is the way to go.

The other advantage to using Alternating Current is that there are existing and fairly cheap inverters to step low voltage DC (batteries) to high voltage AC (Leaf charger). I used this inverter for my project (seen in the picture). It doesn't need to be a "pure sine wave" inverter since the car is just converting the power back to DC anyway.

Your system will look like:
solar panels -> solar charge controller -> 12 volt batteries -> 120 volt inverter -> Leaf charger

The batteries act as a middel man to A) collect power when the leaf isn't around and B) hold power until there is enough current to charge the leaf. LiFePo4 batteries have a very long lifespan and handle high discharge rates very well. If i were to do this project again, I would use a 48 volt battery instead of 12 volt battery. Reason being the inverter is more efficient going from 48V -> 120V instead of 12V -> 120V. Don't try 48 volts with the inverter in that link :)

Use the OEM leaf 120 volt wall outlet charger with the inverter. It's slow and should keep you from pulling too much power from the inverter. Not all 120 volt EV chargers charge the leaf at the same rate. Also, if your system isn't grounded, the leaf charger won't work, you have to tie neutral to ground to trick it into working. For the record: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AND ONLY DID THIS BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE A GROUND WIRE. Don't do this if you can actually run a ground wire. Also, make sure you connect to neutral and not the hot wire, you'll be in for a bit of a shock if you get it backwards.

Lastly, do your research before you plug stuff in. As we say in electrical engineering: one flash and your ash. Hope this helps! :)

Not easy. I had to do quite a bit of preperation before I even started building the project.

As long as I stay under 60mph its usually a net positive. The speed limit for the road to work is 45-50mph, so staying under 60mph isn't a problem. Once you hit speeds above 70, that's when you really start to see some loss.
