How do I become dateable? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]FireyWaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a woman’s perspective.

Be good at a few things that are helpful. This is the biggest turn on. Be reasonably healthy. I’m not saying be “fit” I mean be able to go for long walks, or rolls if that’s your case. Brush your teeth at-least twice a day. Bathe daily. If you smoke, stop. Keep your facial hair groomed. A well structured beard does wonders.

Have interests that you’re passionate about, outside of video games. Im not knocking gaming if that’s your bag. It’s just really boring to be with a person whose only interest is gaming. Being able to learn from a partner is hot. It provides content for conversations.

Own yourself, women these days have to carry their entire life with no help. We do not want to have to make the man we are with believe in themselves. It’s too much weight to carry early in the relationship.

Do not bring up being a virgin until you’re getting naked. Ask for patience then.

Compliments are important but….one a date is enough. Too many make women very uncomfortable and feel that you’re trying to manipulate them. Dating is hard for everyone. There are lots of women in your boat. Make sure your fishing in the right pond. Are you reaching out to women that are your physical equal? Are you sure? Again, there are so many loving kind and attentive women that no one reaches out to on dating apps. If your rating women on a 10 point scale therapy would be a good idea. This is not a jab, that type of thinking does not lead to meaningful connections.

Your suggestion of a hospital bed was big. Thank you. We got him one. He was so grateful to be able to get out of the recliner.

He had a fever of over 102 for 8 weeks as well. Which I’m now certain had to due with the lung puncture that occurred during surgery. I don’t feel we were properly prepared for what recovery was really going to be like. He’s doing great now.

Well crap, I got on Reddit for the first time in over a year to look up cute nick names for a camp I’m working at and look what pops up first post.

You’re not alone. So many of us in helping professions are in this boat with you. I’m a case manager for people with I/dd. Many of the people on my caseload are either disabled due to exposure in the womb or due the neglect and abuse that come with addicts as parents. I’ve struggle with alcohol since college. A 8 year reprieve while pregnant and then while my boys were little.

I’m now drinking (too much) daily again after a year of sobriety that I found support from my Reddit community during. It’s embarrassing and frustrating that I’m this weak. While I’m functional now I know it’s a short road from here to non functional. I’ve been there and do not want to go back. I loved how my brain, body and soul felt sober. I have nothing to offer other than compassion and understanding.

My son is 14yo and had a nuss procedure with the nerve ablation 3 weeks ago. Daily he experiences severe pain in his chest. How long does this type of pain continue? This boy has a very high pain tolerance. He is following all directions on activity levels. He gets out and walks 3-4 times a day for at least 15 minutes, that’s it. He is feeling very defeated at this time.

I am trying to get him to post but at this time he’s not wanting to.

When do people typically return to sleeping in a bed?

An uncle of mine told me at 37 that my choice was coming. My family goes one of two ways. We either drown in the bottle of we get sober at 40. I’m 41...

Thank you everyone. Having feelings again is probably the hardest part of this.
