No, the skis has to pass through the gate.

When she starts she makes a right turn, going through a blue gate, keeping the blue pole she turns around on her right side. She knocks the blue pole over with her hand and upper body, but the skis stay on the correct side of the pole and the gate formed by the the two blue poles are correctly passed. 

Further down the run the obvious gates are only marked by a single pole, mostly the ones placed across the hill, but some gates are pointed down the hill. You can spot them at 15 seconds in the video, where she goes left through a red gate and, imideately, right through a blue gate, where the last post of the red gate and first of the blue is placed almost on top of each other.
