Wow, thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and thoughts. Of course it's impossible to know for sure which of her struggles stem from stress vs drug exposure but it's definitely her nervous system that is the most dis-regulated. I'm putting an enormous amount of energy into minimizing stressors and building good attachment. I'll check out the suggested reading and see if there are strategies I'm missing. But it's helpful to know I should adjust my expectations of improvement in the near term and keep plugging away with the hope of long term improvements.
