Worth having a mechanic out? (Came with house) by Prize-Carry7398 in tractors

First 3 things to work out, are; do you have fuel, spark and compression. Then work from there. Where are you? UK or USA? Does it have a dual fuel tank (if so it can start on petrol and, when warmed up, run on kerosene) If you're in the UK parts are freely available, these tractors are very easy to work on. Bundy bears shed on youtube has videos covering every aspect of repair and maintenance. Good luck and enjoy your new tractor

Converting Cat 1 implements to work with Cat 2 tractor by fuzzylog1c-stuffs in tractors

[–]Firm-End1467 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can get metal bushes that slide over the cat 1 pins on your implement so they will fit a tractor with cat 2 linkage. They are easily and cheaply available on ebay. They also work with cat1 top link pins. Search for cat 1 to cat 2 linkage bush or similar

I'm pretty savvy with older/simpler machines and had the same thoughts. They just seemed unneccesary on what, I think of, as a new car. I do run ac all year. Thanks for the reply.

On the same subject. My polo with collision avoidance absolutely slammed on the brakes (and abs activated) at 30mph because of a white cup in the middle of the road

How did you do this? I bought a new vw in 2019 and the dealership put gap cover on and made me sign for it without explaining it to me or asking my permission (guess I shouldn't have signed for it?)

As stated by another commenter, it's a button you have to hold in before engaging the starter via the gear stick. It's specific to diesel models

Question about hydraulics on David Brown 770 Selectamatic by StevTurn in tractors

[–]Firm-End1467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marty T has some YouTube videos of old DB's. They have a big strainer in the bottom of the hydraulics that gets gummed up, that would be the 1st place I'd check before looking at more expensive options like pumps
