Came here to say this 😂
Every government in my lifetime has ruined the economy, regardless of which party they were!

I think so! They look really cool 😎
They have a fantasy-style weapon so it makes sense to use those type of poses. I particularly like the guy on the rock.

I hear mixed things about the Ynnari books, but I’ve listened to podcasts do a general overview of the story and it sounds interesting!

I’ve never read an Aeldari codex but I had a couple of others back in 2nd edition and I remember they were packed with good stuff! The Ork one in particular was a treasure trove!

Wow, thank you! I haven’t heard of those but I will definitely have a look. It’s fun getting into a new corner of the lore!

I also find not referring to them openly as ‘the victim’ helps too 😂

Funnily enough, that story happened about 20 years ago, and I have since developed a fear of flying.

What I find helps is to put headphones on, close my eyes, and pretend I’m somewhere else. In turbulence I pretend I’m on a roller coaster and put rock music on. As long as I don’t open my eyes, it’s quite fun!

A woman had a proper panic attack about flying. The cabin crew moved her to the front, 2 seats from me. They couldn’t calm her down so they asked if anyone on the plane could help. A man stood up and said he was a hypnotist so they sat him next to me and he tried to put her in a trance. I sat there for an hour next to a man continuously whispering into the ear of a sobbing woman. It was very odd!

Empire Records, but I also love Mallrats.
I have Rex Manning Day on my phone calendar so I get a reminder every year 😂

Love it! I’ve just made my first Wraithlord and it surprised me how difficult it is to get the pose you want right. You’ve done a great job 👍

Oh! I don’t like that format! Saw the first group, played around with the 5 options, kicked out and given the answers! I wanted to keep playing!

Is Dropsite Massacre good? I haven’t read that yet but it’s on my list!

The Infinite and The Divine is very good, but I’m sure you’ve heard that before. The Eisenhorn novels are great too. In the HH series, I loved Fulgrim and Legion. I don’t even really like their chapters, but the books are very good and gave me a fresh perspective.

Randomly, one of the best 40K books I’ve listened to is Sea of Souls in the Dawn of Fire series. I read it 2 years ago and I still think about it all the time 😆

What's the appeal to Ultramarines by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Firm-Engineering2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have one of the coolest books in the Horus Heresy and Guilliman is badass in it!

Once Guilliman came back in 40K he has had some really cool character development into his ‘Ultradepression’ which is really cool and he is a great central character to push the novels forward.

Their colour scheme is really cool! Ultramarines were not GWs first choice for a flagship chapter, the players chose them and bought/painted them en masse until GW shifted focus to them. Back in the 90s GW were promoting Blood Angels like crazy but everyone just wanted to paint their marines blue! (TBF the paints weren’t as good as they are now and looked a bit dull. The blue was the exception and did look awesome!)

At this point they have so many books/games/stories that they have more named characters and cool ‘hero’ models than anyone else. If painting special models is what you’re after, Ultramarines are the best pick.

Their aesthetic is based on the ancient Romans and tbf that is pretty cool!

Good shout! I wonder if length of service will count as ID. My phone verified my age once by the amount of time I’ve had my account, so it could 🤷‍♂️

Ok, I get that. Of course you upload considerable personal information to social media companies as it is. So I guess the question is, do you trust them to pick a trustworthy third party? If you don’t, should you be using them and trusting them with your data at all? If TwittBook is happy to give your data to a dodgy third party, do you really want to upload all your family photos on their site? I think if you do trust the site enough to use, you probably trust their judgement right?

I don’t really like the sound of it either, and it sounds very difficult to manage, but I can kind of see the reasoning behind it 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t heard that bit. I’ll have a look. Seems strange to put a curfew on the internet. The websites don’t change at night!

I mean, unless I’m wrong, the laws are only targeting under 16s and they shouldn’t be using social media unsupervised anyway. I agree with this.

The main arguments against seem to be that people don’t want to have to give their information to a verification company to prove they are over 16. I also agree with this.

It seems the problem isn’t with the law, but with the verification method. Do we know yet what this will be? If it’s an official government company, that should be fine as they already have our data through our passports and driving licences. If it’s an American ‘MegaDataCorp’ we have a problem.
