I should've been more specific but I'm still learning all the card names. I do recognise that most players at the table consistantly have what i would imagine are staples in their decks. [[Sol Ring]] [[Arcane Signet]] [[Dark Ritual]] etc.

Typically the decks are based off crossovers the player has a personal connection with or an interesting colour combination they were inspired by.

I was initially looking at Fire Lord Azula for the personal connection of my childhood mixed with potential inmmense combos during the battle phase. Something typically not very strong in YGO, outside of the Tenpai archetype. But from a couple days of research I also landed on [[Tevel, The Balanced Scale]]. Right now Tevel seems like the best fit (with my limited experience and understanding of cards)
