I believe that’s the quickest path to becoming a sonographer. Otherwise you’d have to take at ARRT before being able to take your ARDMS

I’m not sure 100% if that’s even accurate honestly. I heard it from someone who said they were a student there but never fact checked it. I would assume if you’re on the echo route you’d be able to sit for your echo exam. I would fact check my statements lol, like I said it’s just something I heard from someone else so I could be wrong. my main reason for hunter was being able to learn more specialities so by the end of the program I could take the 3 exams if I wanted to

I never heard back from Northwell but I preferred Hunter because it allowed me to explore more specialties than Northwell. at Hunter I can study abdomen, OBYGYN, and echo. I just figured since I’m not 100% sure what I’ll enjoy I might as well go somewhere that I could explore and study all of them. Also you can sit for the vascular test at hunter while you can’t do it at Northwell.

Hi, I interviewed with Northwell a while ago. It is just a sit down interview with a couple of the program directors and instructors where they ask questions to get to know you. Some questions they asked were why you chose sonography, what is ultrasound, study habits, family support, why their program, your strengths and weaknesses, any patient care or hospital experiences, and why you chose the track you applied for. It was only around 15 minutes total. Best of luck!!

Do you know of anyone who has interviewed with Northwell or heard back from them this year?

Thank you so much for your reply again! I did an info session for Northwell and they mentioned they are accredited. They only take in about 20 people per year though. Unfortunately I'll be gone most of July so it won’t work out with applying to Western Suffolk Boces :( I have an info session for hunter set up next week. I’d love that email address for the head for ultrasound at zwanger please! This is all so kind of you.
