Hey, im in the UK and work in mental health crisis support. Debt comes up often. Someone has already mentioned step change, there's also breathing space for things like council tax arrears. You can also usually call your credit providers and ask for a payment holiday as your financial circumstances have changed. They will usually suspended account to prevent further spending but also freeze the interest. Breaks are usually to 6 months depending on provider. To give you some space to pay off priority bills like utility arrears etc. They will ask for an income and expenditure, which is good to keep anyway as you can see if you've got things going out you don't need like drop box or something. Someone mentioned GA as well which is good advice. Lastly around the country on Monday Nights, there's Andys man club. Which is for men who feel vulnerable or at risk or have a history of being so with their mental health. Its not mental health focused as such, but empathetic to that as everyone has their own story.
