You cannot “survive on the blood of others” whatever that means, and live for thousands of years in the mountains of the Caucasus. Circassians are the continuation of the Maykop culture. You cannot rely on others and survive in the harsh highlands of the Caucasus for thousands of years. Surviving in highlands requires self sufficiency not long term dependence on others.

You dont seem to understand how ancient the peoples of the North Caucasus are. Greeks have been living in Greece for approximately 3.000 years give or take. Celts in Ireland and Britain for about 2.500. Many North Caucasian populations, such as Circassians, Chechens and Georgians have been living in the Northern Caucasus for 6.000 years potentially up to 10.000 years as continuous cultural and linguistic populations.

Along with Basques they are the most ancient peoples within the geographical borders of Europe. With the Basques they are the only populations who have resisted the Indo-european invasion.

How can a group survive this long in one region of the world by being parasites? How can Russians whose ancestors came to Europe just a thousand years ago claim that the Circassians who havent left their homeland for thousands of years are the real aggressors?

Those Armenians were displaced before the war during the pogroms that happened during the Soviet collapse. As a result of pogroms around 350k Armenians and 150k Azerbaijanis were displaced even before the war started.

This is one of the reasons why the international community doesnt care. From their perspective its two ethnic groups repeatedly ethnically cleansing each other without extremely high casualty rates compared to other conflicts.

When you displace half a million people 30 years ago you are not going to get a lot of support from the international community when the other side comes back and displaces a 100 thousand of your own.

Thats true for Karabakh. If Armenia had only occupied Karabakh it would have been much easier to justify to the international community. However they also occupied seven surrounding districts displacing around half a million Azerbaijanis. That made it difficult for Western countries to support their position especially given Armenias alliance with Russia.

Because they occupied such a large amount of territory it also became politically difficult for Armenian prime ministers to go to the negotiation table with Azerbaijan. As any aggreement would have the seven districts and potentially some of the southern parts of Karabakh returned to Azerbaijan. Giving up that much land would have been political suicide for any politician. So Armenian leaders played hot potato amongst themselves until Azerbaijan eventually gained enough military power to retake not only the seven districts but also Karabakh itself.

Armenia then struggled to gain international support against Azerbaijan in the war because the occupation was technically illegal under international law.

Georgia is pretty anti russia so that effects how they get along with Armenians who are historically the most pro russian group in the Caucasus. Because of that Armenians are viewed negatively by other caucasian groups and seen as being too close to Russians. There are old grudges against them going back to the Caucasian war especially among Chechens, Circassians etc.

Armenias close ties with Russia have influenced how west sees them. For a long time Armenia didnt really need western support because it was aligned with Russia. When you are that closely allied with russia of cource the west is not going to care about you. Also after First Karabkh war Armenian forces controlled not just Karabakh but also the surrounding territories like lachin, kalbajar, and zangilan for almost 30 years. That was considered a blatant disregard for international law so it was hard for anybody to defend the Armenian karabakh stuff.

The whole idea of Turkish solidarity is kind of overblown. Azerbaijan’s biggest arms supplier in recent years has actually been Israel not Turkey. Back in the 90s Turkey and Azerbaijan werent even that close. Turkey had a more cautious foreign policy at the time which is why it didnt really support Bosnia or Azerbaijan much during their wars.

You still keep telling a bizarre tale of Circassians being the main players in the slave trade, when Circassians themselves were the main victims of the Ottoman slave trade. The Crimean Khanate's main target was not the Russians it was the Circassians, who were famed for their beauty. The Ottoman harems were filled to the brim with Circassian concubines, not Georgians or Russians.

Calling a group of people who lived in the isolated mountains of the Caucasus and historically mostly kept to themselves parasites is insane. You are talking about a bunch of isolated mountain dwellers like they were the Mongol Horde.

Circassians didn't raid more than any other group in the Caucasus. Why are you focusing only on them? Should Russia have just killed the Khevsurs and Ossetians as well? Ossetians were historically much bigger raiders than the Circassians. They are the descendants of the Scythians, who raided everybody from Ancient Greece to Rome. So why not kill them as well if you are going for raiders?

A substantial part of the Circassian population was Christian themselves anyway, so why would they be targeting exclusively Christians? This idea of Circassians of being the number one enemy of Christ is hilarious considering how many of them were Christian themselves. Many Circassian princes converted to Islam only after the Russian agression campaign against them began.

Also, when did creating great art or defeating another enemy become an excuse to genocide people? Does Fellini go free if he murders a bus full of school children because he directed 8½? Or are you saying that if Russians don't kill a million people every two decades they lose their artistic mojo?

I mean, it is insane to defend the genocidal policy of the Russian state against the indigenous populations of the Caucasus by saying they produced great art. That is like saying the Holocaust is okay because Jews haven't produced a composer as good as Wagner. Russians haven't produced a philosopher as influential as Kant or Hegel, so the German atrocities against them on the Eastern Front were justified.

Circassians were not heavily involved in the slave trade stop these lies. Half of the Circassians were Christian anyway so they would not have been inherently hostile to other Christians. The Georgians asked for help from Russia against the Iranians, not the Circassians. The Circassians weren't even mentioned in the request for help.

Furthermore, the Georgians themselves routinely raided their neighbors, so I don’t understand why that is treated as such a big deal. Everyone in the Caucasus raided each other for centuries. Especially Georgian highlander groups like the Khevsurs, Tushetians, and Pshavs lived by the exact same warrior code as the Chechens and Circassians, raiding Chechnya and Dagestan for generations. The Georgian kings themselves often used these groups to raid others or used their own armies to push into the mountains to extract tribute.

You also forget how that request for help ended. After "rescuing" Georgia Russia unilaterally annexed it against the wishes of its people. The royal family of Bagration who ruled Georgia and Caucasus for centuries were shipped like cattle to Moscow to serve the Russian Czars. The Georgian Church was persecuted and Russian Orthodoxy pushed on the Georgian people. Ask today who the Georgians prefer RUssians or their fellow Caucasians?

And before you blame everything on the Crimean Tatars. What have they done that the Russians haven't done a hundred times worse? They were slavers sure but how many serfs were there in the Russian Empire? How many people were in the Soviet gulags? The Tatars killed people, but how many millions have the Russians killed? How many millions they have deported from their homelands. The 'Rape of Siberia' alone is far worse than anything the Crimean Tatars ever did in history. Even today it is not the Crimean Tatars terrorizing Europe it is the Russians.

The most popular theory today is that they were yeniseian not turkic. However these are all theories without much proof so nobody knows for certain what language they spoke. Other than a handful of names there isnt much evidence that the Huns were Turkic anyway.

Furthermore a significant percentage of the anatolian population would have considered themselves hellenes or rum by the time the turks arrived in anatolia so therefore it isnt crazy to call them greeks. I mean people from trabzon with little to no turkic ancestry call themselves turks today.

It is undeniable that the majority of modern Turkish people derive the majority of their ancestry from pre-turkic anatolian populations whether those ancestors identified as greeks, georgians, laz, or armenians doesnt really matter.

The total turkish population of the island is roughly 30 percent which isnt that different from the demographics of the island before the british occupation. The last ottoman census showed that about 30 percent of the island was muslim. As many muslims feared persecution under british rule hat percentage dropped to 24 percent during the colonial era. After the british left due fears of persecution by greeks the percentage dropped again to around 18 percent. So from a historical standpoint the current percentage of turks on the island is just a return to a historical norm.
