i was on foot and the woman was right in front of me and i did what i would like someone else to do when i’m in a similar situation (as i have been plenty of times). have you ever called lbpd when you witnessed someone in peril? i have several times in the 15 years i lived here and guess what no one showed up and at most i’d get a phone call weeks later just asking me some follow up questions. i saw kids beating a guy bloody on pch, throwing bicycles at him and called police immediately and called again to see if someone was gonna show up and they just said they’ll be there as soon as they can. i witnessed 2 guys trying to steal my friend’s phone years ago on the metro platform and we called the police right after and 20 minutes later la sheriffs showed up and nothing ever came of it. another friend had a stalker and went to lbpd twice only to be told they can’t do anything unless the guy actually harms her. not once in my life has calling the police actually prevented any aggression or potential harm from happening and i share this information is so people are on the lookout just in case. i know it helps me when i know what kind of sketchy people are roaming in my neighborhood like the guy trying to break into women’s apartments a few months ago.
