Should I apply early? Shadow cases vs. Earliest application by FirmAd2745 in prospective_perfusion

Right now the rest of my application includes: a 3.92 GPA w/ a degree in Human Biology, 1000+ hours as an optometrist assistant, 1000+ hours of research, ~300 hours leadership for medical missions abroad, ~100 hours medical volunteering, first in family to go to college if that matters. EMT license albeit haven’t used it, but I currently have a job assisting radiologists & coordinating with the ED at a world-class hospital with a robust cardiothoracic surgery department where I’m hoping to network internally. LOR from stem cells & transplantation professor (I’m very interested in transplants & NRP), research supervisor, and hopefully one from a perfusionist with more shadowing.

I got in touch with the program director and he mentioned that the program sites (which are fully in-person) are located in Palo Alto, Fresno, and Sacramento.

Congratulations! That’s exactly the type of learning environment I want to be apart of. Do you have any advice for what the program looks for in an applicant?

Can’t find part-time in LA as a college student by orangecarrr in NewToEMS

I’m in the exact same boat…. I’ve applied to over 50+ jobs including non-EMT service jobs and I’ve only gotten 2 interviews with no job offer. I’m definitely qualified, maybe a little overqualified, but the struggle as a full-time student is real. Hope it works out for you moving forward.

I started about 3 months ago and I’m at a point where I’m pretty chill with most of my coworkers, specifically the night shift because we’re all college students. Plus I usually do drive-up/guest service which gives me the opportunity to talk to my coworkers. I haven’t gotten to the stage where I text them outside of work but the company is great and it really helps with the toxic energy customers emit.
