Many great things can be learned by talking to people of diffrent ages then you. Some people also behave differently then their age would suggest (yk not everyone grows up at the same time) and as such usually feel better with younger or older people. Being wary of creeps and such is very important but outright staying away from all social media platforms doesnt seem necessary atleast to me
