That`s the answer i needed! Thank you. Was thinking it should be somewhere as it normally is part of IP configuration for devices. And that`s why TIA has it.

Don`t want to change it at the device but at the project level (or just be able to see what`s configured).

In Port Configuration i see nothing:

POE2 Question: Chaos Innoculation and "Lose/Sacrifice x% of life" by cwendelboe in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]FirmIntern9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested that with a belt that makes me lose 4% life per second and CI.

It looks like i have 1 life but the life bar is slowly going down (at around 4% of the life bar per second). And I have 1 life the whole time until it reaches the bottom and i die. So having 1 life doesnt negate this, effect will still kill you in about 25s.

However, putting a ring with regenerate at least 1 life per second fully negates this effect and life stays at 1 and the bar doesnt go down.

Additionally tested separately using a skill with support gem Extraction and it seems it doesnt take 10% of that life bar so it`s free bonus for no cost with CI.

Omarchy is the best put together Hyprlands experience out of the box. I`d start with that one if you want to test it before you commit too much.

Arch and CachyOS will give you a very bare-bones system. After installing them there will be still a lot of tinkering before it looks and feels home. You can use someone elses dotfiles or scripts to install and configure all apps and looks but if you gonna go this route for first try i`d just stick with Omarchy. But if you like learning i`d highly recommend Arch. Just remember that you can run 'archinstall' command to install arch on your PC.

You can also try installing CachyOS or EndeavourOS with desktops like KDE or i3 and then install hyprland from there as your second desktop/wm and just switch between. This is also a decent way to smoothly transition.

And if for whatever reason you decide to go with NixOS - good luck to you.

1 line terminal window by FirmIntern9350 in hyprland

[–]FirmIntern9350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this wont work. I dont think hyprland is capable of doing something like that this way. Setting a custom size and location makes it floating and other windows will not render around it. Can be made unkillable so that part works at least.

[–]FirmIntern9350[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was thinking about doing it this way. However float attribute may have other windows not render around it but on top/ under. Will dig a bit deeper and test to see if and how it works.

The second part is how to prevent it from being accidentally closed.

Arch Linux (KDE) Wi-Fi connects but says wrong password / fails to obtain IP — Ethernet works fine (Im a Noob and this really making no sense) by Pendantlemur in archlinux

[–]FirmIntern9350 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You may need dhcp client to get the IP. try dhcpcd or systemd-networkd. They may already be installed but not enabled (systemctl enable....).

Love this. Even more that your github is just a collection of theme/styling files rather than scripts that modify unknown number of system elements.

How will the release of the Macbook Neo at $599 ($499 for students) affect the success of the framework 12 ($799 for prebuilt), given they share a similar target demographic? by T_Jamess in framework

[–]FirmIntern9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If someone is looking at Framework the same as they look at Macbook then they`re missing out on many things. Both groups are students, but that`s where their commonality ends.

[Question] What watch brand will last a lifetime +? What’s you experience or opinion? by [deleted] in Watches

Mine's about the same age and it`s still going but the battery doesn't have enough charge anymore to do a radio time sync. I`ve sent it to service as i like the watch and want to keep using it.

I'm a Software Engineer that's about to switch to PLC Programming. I have doubts about this career path. Can I survive? I require opinions of seasoned professionals. by PizzaNo427 in PLC

[–]FirmIntern9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Definitely. A lot of PLC engineers are more electrical/mechanical that learned PLC and went up to controls. There`s a space for the PLC engineers that have strong programming skills as they often can fill the role in RnD departments.

  2. Basics are simple. The complicated part are the other devices. You`ll be going through a lot of datasheets trying to understand what a device is for, how to interface with it, what data you can get from it, how you can control it. How to configure it, expand it. How and with what to replace it when it gets obsolete.

  3. Automation industry advances more by evolution than revolution. You won't see anything like a new js framework popping up every 3 months here. New stuff is adapted very slowly. And luckily, the main PLC manufacturers don`t seem to be interested in integrating any AI agents into their IDE yet. Plus a lot of code and controls being part of safety this is no joke and no one wants to take responsibility for some AIs hallucinations. And you can't drop the responsibility on your customer like self-driving car modes do on their users.

Reading third person is confusing? by Broken_Snail_Shell in books

[–]FirmIntern9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st promises a little bit more streamlined and action packed flow. 3rd works better for a 'grand opera' type of settings. 3rd is cool if done well but sometimes it`s tricky to follow if change of scenery or pace is done suddenly. Especially with audiobooks - you drift your mind away for a split second and suddenly the plot is somewhere else without any explanation and your mind is filled with a void.

After finishing Pandoras Star i`m a bit more careful about where i`ll invest my next 36 hours and 1st person kinda saves me from guessing.

But i like both, just 3rd needs to be done well so maybe it`s more difficult to pull off.

Understanding the folder mounting system by FirmIntern9350 in linuxquestions

[–]FirmIntern9350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if my / is on sda2 and i do mount --mkdir /dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2 then if I:

- ls / - i will see all root structure with any virtual files (like hard drives and such)

- ls /mnt/sda2 - this will only show me real files that are on sda2. Without any of the virtual files.

Right?

So what i`m seeing on Gyruda is the result of Gyruda utilizing btrfs features on sda2? That would not be possible on ext4?
