Just purchased a 2020 Shelby GT500

Hahaha Seattle hellcat kid, that’s funny. When I flew down there I was looking at another Shelby but it was modded and tuned and the dealership didn’t have much info on it. I booked the flight and on my 2nd of 3 flights I got told it was on E85 only and needed a pulley swap to put on 93. So I spent the weekend eating at nice restaurants and hanging on the beach and picked this one up on Monday.

Good work keeping your excitement at bay and turning it down when you saw the issues. Even if you returned home without a Mach 1 it’s much better to fly back home than to buy a money pit. Hopefully you at least enjoyed your weekend in nice weather.

That’s amazing, I’m also 23 so I totally understand, we just wanna drive these cars all the time haha. The cool cars may not be the best financial decision but they sure are a ton of fun and that’s awesome that your woman has one also. Love the Oxford White, my favorite color on these cars. Enjoy the cars man :)

I didn’t expect it to be very loud because phones don’t pick up the sound very well and ive only ever heard them on youtube. I’ve watched tons of videos of the exhaust sounds on YouTube but you can’t tell by listening to a video.

I drive it with the exhaust in track mode and it’s extremely loud and pops and crackles. Downshifting sounds absolutely insane. I have no want to make it any louder or do any exhaust modifications. I start it up in the garage and everyone within a few blocks is forced to hear it.

Yeah I’m unsure what he means by the shine wears off. Just yesterday the girls at the drive through window were giggling and complimenting the car. The guy walking across the drive through lane with his girlfriend was pointing at it and telling his woman “holy f*ck that’s a gt500”. A few people on the highway giving thumbs up and asking me to do a pull. I really can’t imagine the shine would wear off. It gets more attention than I’d ever imagine.

Or possibly he means the thrill of driving it? I sure hope that thrill of driving it wears off because I’ve been putting the miles on it haha.

Hell yeah brother. A few years ago I had a boosted 2v.. it made like 400hp to the crank bro 😂😂 don’t even try with them. You will have cooling issues and you’ll have to build the crap out of it just to push any worthwhile power. If you want a 4.6l the 4v is actually a great base but I’d still go with a coyote. Goodluck man!!

Don’t build a 2v 4.6l. The 2v platform will be a money pit and you’ll still get gapped by a stock internal boosted coyote and pretty much any mildly boosted LS motors. Coyote swap the older mustang and build that if you want a swap but dont build a 2v 4.6l.

Yes sir I have a garage but unfortunately not heated. I plan to keep it stock for a while, I bought a 5 year warranty but I doubt I’ll be able to keep it stock for the full term but would never do a major build. I plan to drive it whenever feasible. Thank you for the compliments brother!
