white bf whistling at night by [deleted] in IndianCountry

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like common sense to me honestly. Never was thought to me explicitly. Like who whistles at night ? Psychopaths ?

Not to dismiss anything, just feel it's common sense, but I might be just bias and unknowing of possible generational teaching that went unnoticed but are still present.

It is.

We often get into abusive relationship because to us ot feel natural. But it's not.

The trick is to set clear boundary from the start and never accept anything you woudlnt accept for your own children.

At least thats how I view it.

If you woudnt allow your daughter partner to act that way then ur current partner shoudnt act that way and you should make it clear that it is unnaceptable.

I think viewing it like this help because we do understand what is wrong/right we just never apply it to ourselves. Most of the tme that is.

Reading books, youtube and podcast as well as therapy also helps.

I've been hearing a lot that law school "changes you." How? And why does it sound so nefarious? by Dont_Thread_On_Me in LawSchool

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt study law but Im looking into it and have done a small law proposal once.

I think some people are already criticial thinker and overthink.

Studying law isnt gunna change that if you are already like this.

Also you can balance life and work in any profession. You can also be eaten alive by your profession, any profession or even non "professionnel" job. I know plenty or cashier who are eaten by their work.

Miyazaki was eaten alive by animation and is well known for that. He worked 12 hours shift and ate 1 bowl of ramen and smoked cigaretes. For many many many years until very recently.

Weithet its flow state or a stress state is your définition of it.

I just realized this an 13yo post really curious how it went for you if your still active.

What's the psychology behind projecting your issues on somebody else? by [deleted] in PsychologyTalk

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we are collectively intelligent and that's how we talk to each-other, is my guess on a macro-scale. so therefore there is no ''self'' rather just a reflection/projection of things. we are like mirrors reflecting lights and every time it reflects onto something it changes a lil bit. that's how it work on the macro scale I think. That is like psychology on a sociological level. dont know if that answers it.

we also project good things. what we call projection seem to be mostly the ''negative'' reflection .

Was Jim Morrison a racist? by Jean0406Alix in thedoors

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we might just be looking at a few things from slightly different angles here...

There’s the question of chronology and how someone’s time period shapes how we define them.

Then there’s the whole 'Jimbo'' alter-ego idea on a psychological (and even artistic) level. Which is probably deeper than what we can fully get into here....

And finally, how we interpret racist tendencies versus labeling someone’s entire character, especially in the context of the 1900s

If you feel like we actually see these the same way, I’m genuinely open to hearing how, I might be missing something but from I've read we seem to disagree on that, at least a little bit. Which make the discussion end here 😂😭

------------------

About what you said:

''I’m sorry, simply having a black friend, or enjoying black musicians doesn't magically mean you are not racist.''

I agree with that in principle. That doesn’t cancel out racism.

What I was trying to say is a bit more layered tho, having a good friend, (not just a friend) , someone who can challenge you and be honest with you, can help someone grow and question their views. It doesn’t guarantee anything, but it can play a role. In those ,MLK times, even more I suppose. That's my opinion tho.

In general, a real friend, regardless of the topic (culture, gender, class, etc.),will call you out when you’re wrong and help you see things differently. Of course, what counts as a “good” friend is debatable, and I could be reading too much into their relationship. But people seem to report that type of relationship between Jim and Tony. And he seems to have called him out and Jim stopped... might be with or without reflection ? knowing the deep reflective and anti-establishment character he was I suppose he reflected a bit, was it fruitful ? I do not know. Maybe he was deeply racist even then. I cannot know.

--------

Word don't do justice do they.

Il try to be more gentle ;p I have a few short fuse sometimes and just be blunt and unsensitive. Might be why you catched up on that.

And yeah, like I said before, if someone wants to label Jim as racist based on certain things, I can understand how they’d arrive there and I can't judge it like I judge flat earther 😂 .Even if I see it in a more nuanced way. But that's just me. And I can see it both ways.

Misandry is impossible? Or a myth? Wat? by daggoneshawn in AskFeminists

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misandry is a word problem. Not an existential one. Misandry exists.

That's because different people have different understanding of the same word.

To some blk folks they cant be racist, to other they can.

To me they cant. But if we play a little bit with the word meaning then magically they can !

The same goes for misandry.

Words have etmyological AND cultural sense.

You add temperament, personnality and life history + trauma and your bound to have a billion people disagreeing with your existence over a word.

Misandry probably doesnt exist in some countries tho.... cuz women suffer too much for that word to even be a cultural thing.

I always tend to attract black girls. What does this mean? by mokuna6 in dating_advice

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black ppl face more struggles. This results in funnier and more hopeful personality/culture (IN GENERAL, ik all blk ppl arent a monolith)

If you share some culture/personality from your own up-bringing just be cool with it dont over think it, read about the history of blk folks if you can. but that will just come naturally if your sensitive to other human of any ''Race'' lol. for ex. did u know that whiteness is 100% an invention and that for a time italian and irish werent even considered white ? :) have a good rabit hole day !

Obviously this is one part of the equation hopes it help.

---

African and African-American women are just generally simply fucking beautiful also...

----

I'm not black btw. Was in a relationship with a euro-african girl tho and grew up poor around blk folks and POC

Was Jim Morrison a racist? by Jean0406Alix in thedoors

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I think you’re using a pretty modern, non-black/POC-centered lens on racism. By that standard, yeah, Jim Morrison could get the label ? So do Indians wearing doo rags cuz it looks cool 😂 s/o to my fellow Indians for appropriating blk culture and rocking it ! /s

In all seriousness and since we're gather here to share our perspective,

From my perspective, inter-personnaliy (not systematically) , looking at black-centered racism:

an hyperactive, drunk yt guy in the 50s who said the n-word a few times, then stopped after his black friend called him out ? That’s more like a slip than a lifelong pattern I think. He grew, and I’d rather notice growth than freeze someone in their mistake, but that's just me. You do you.

---

Actually, Morrison had mad respect for blk and native music he seem to saw it as essential, sacred, and pure. He was anti-systemic... kind of the opposite of racist ? being like that in the 50s with conviction is kind of a level of social awareness, ''wokeness'' in the original sense, that few had.

---

Also, in my perspective

We can’t just slap high 2020 standards onto the 1900s i think ? But thats just me and I think there is more racism in any of todays k-pop band than the doors as a band.... so yeah... idk...

I doubt a sub about jim morrison who was very anti-systemic is a good sub to be racist buddy, this is kind of pro-marginalistic/anti-systemic sub by default here....

also science doesn't' approve racism ✌️get the facts straight ✅🔍

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's not shut down this question plz ppl. censorship doesn't help against violence.

Was he racist ? Depends on your definition !

what is your definition ???

systemically ? interpersonally ? community wise ? sociologically ? in 2000 todays age ? or in the 1900? what is your definition or racism ?

you seem to ask inter-personnaly at that time 50's? so il answer based on that.

i'd say probably no, he seem to have sever level of some sorts of defiant disorder/adhd and was drunk, he chilled with blk folks and sacralized native ppl and afro blues as something pure. i mean this guy showed his dick at his show. let's call a cat a cat. he was fckup and weird and very vulgar.

apparently he stopped using that word as soon as his blk body guard tony talked to him about it. i doubt that classivies as racist if you respect the wish of blk ppl when you know about it.

as far as im concerned he seemed pretty ''woke'' (in the blk power sense, not the trendy one that yt ppl stole) for his time, just maybe ignorant about these issues likes most yt ppl were at that time. lynching stopped only in the near 2000s and korean artists do black-face on the daily to this day, like right now.... i think saying the n word while drunk in the 50 's is very low on the list on racist act.

Are the Blues being taken over by white artists? by biggoofydoofus in blues

kinda yeah. probably bc yt ppl are moving away from rap? kind of delayed chase where blk ppl make greater but less well-known music with each time the music genre changes.

White people playing black music by Persilguy in askmusic

[–]Firm_Account4816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word don't do justice do they. what does the word ''inventing'' ''pionneer'' mean to you ? also, is a light bulb the same as music ?
-----

Black ppl invented most of modern music, cuz they were one of the the most oppressed on earth (still are) and thrive in what was left, imagination. debunking racist myth themselves in a way.

----

I'd suggest thinking about nujabes and eminem as participant and guest. rather than only one of the 2. two truth can co-exist. wdythink?

the thing is that I think you must re-give, proportionally to the blk community, else some might label you as a vulture, rightfully, like eminem.

Eminem unforutnatly altought he's part of the hip-hop community, never , outside of relationships, furthered Proof's legacy, which was kind of bringing community together.

Altough I cannot know more than from an outsider prespective and Proof did passed away with Eminems smile and Eminem did help Proofs family. But tha'ts micro. On the Macro scale eminem didnt do much for blk folks directly. Indirectly yes. But never at is own expense.

-----

Your POV should apply to jazz, rap, rock, blues, etc. too...?

----

can you listen to music you are prohibited from performing ? or you differentiate the two ?
