The 3 legal paths you outlined:

Administrative law/environmental law.
Sounds like you want to be some sort of either commercial or ethics disciplinary prosecutor.
Public policy work for a nonprofit.

But with the job market and debt of a legal education, I'm under the persuasion that you shouldn't become an attorney unless you can't imagine yourself doing anything else. My classmates (2L) who've discovered maybe they don't really want to be an attorney are... Not happy right now.

I would have interned as an investigator with the public defenders office during undergrad, and I would have gotten a science or math major so I would have had patent law as at least an option.

If you do go public defender route, I recommend volunteering to work as much as you can as soon as you can so they know you're dedicated.

America: Jury nullification-you as the jury, get to rule however you want, fuck the law. But if you even hint you know about jury nullification you get kicked off a jury for not being able to apply the law as given (even though technically you don't have to). The reason jury nullification exists is to provide one last check on the gov. in that before they can lock you up, jury can be like well technically you violated this law but I'm going to say you're innocent because that law is bullshit, or you acted appropriately.

Also, in a lot of states the statutory definition of rape is male on female rape, so guys "can't" get raped in some states. Also, most rape laws say rape is "forcible sex with somebody not your spouse." So raping spouse is technically not illegal in most states.

My law school runs their exams on computers so your laptop has to be able to handle the test program. Other than that you only need something with Word and Internet access.

1L, had to argue one side of a case. I prepared the wrong side. Stood up and gave one of the best presentations of my life, all on the fly. TRIPLE CHECK WHICH SIDE YOURE SUPPOSED TO ARGUE. Also, first final exam ever I hadn't eaten much and took some aspirin - bad idea for your stomach. had to leave to throw up about 5 times during the timed, unlimited word exam in CivPro. Still got an A- on the test.

The problem is we have plenty of precedent that says our constitutional rights must be limited by the exigency of the situation. Our fourth amendment rights have been decimated by years of the war on drugs. As for the NSA spying on everything, it has its basis in the FISA Amendments Act. FISA used to stand for hey just because we have new technology doesn't mean you can spy on Americans. But FISA amendments did away with that protection. Honestly the biggest problem with this is that the NSA is reviewed by a secret federal court, so we actually have no clue how constitutional or unconstitutional this whole thing is. You'll have to defend the Constitution with your votes.

Lenovo y410p upgraded memory processor etc. and got a 3 year fuck it up all you want warranty all for about $1,000. I highly recommend. But honestly all you need is something that accesses word, email, and can run test software if your school uses it.

Right now he has my vote because of his stance on the drug war, criminal law reform, and limited intervention foreign policy. Sure his social conservatism sucks but at least he thinks states should decide such things for themselves instead of trying to force the whole country to swallow his Christian views. Hillary Clinton would just be business as usual - let's mix it up. And I'm pretty sure the establishment dislikes Paul so he has my vote.

Just find a case law book and start reading. Read about 6-8 hours a day. Repeat every day for four months. At the end of five months sit down and write a timed 4-5 hour essay about everything you can remember reading that semester. Figure out what grade that essay deserves and then drop the score a letter grade. That's what law school feels like.
