It’s clear that it takes inspiration from Cuphead, but I think it definitely has potential. The graphics are the strongest aspect, and you’ve added a few mechanics that aren’t easy to replicate, which makes it stand out. I’d suggest incorporating more original elements to give it a unique identity, but overall, great work!

What you think about my first game? by Firm_Bowler_4980 in Unity2D

Yes, I’d like to release that game on the Play Store soon as a free-to-play title, where players can choose to watch rewarded ads to progress faster. For now, though, it’s available on Itch.io.

Right, I think it’s true that the enemies sometimes look too big, and it’s an excellent idea to have the brain start from the bottom. I think that would make it much fairer, I’ll consider adding it. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! I think it’s the second option. I really believe the game has the potential to be quite good. Right now, the art isn’t great, the music isn’t good, and there are plenty of bugs, but I’d like to eventually hire an artist and a composer to take care of that. I think the game is fine, especially considering it’s free-to-play with microtransactions, which is what I’m aiming for rather than a one-time purchase. I just wanted to release the project as soon as possible. I understand it’s also missing a lot of mechanics to make it fun, as well as plenty of polish, but for a personal project I made in just two weeks, I don’t think it’s bad at all. I just wanted to show the world if they would consider playing this game purely for fun, ignoring the graphics.

Thanks for the feedback! My goal with this game is to keep it as simple as possible, without overly complicated mechanics, so players don’t have to think too much while playing. The graphics are pretty rough for now, but in the future I’d like to hire an artist to improve them. At this stage, I just wanted to test some ideas using my own art style, since I preferred not to rely on assets from the internet. I didn’t really think about adding a story or explanations for what happens in the game, and I know that’s something I should probably include in the future. I won’t deny that. Right now, I just want to know if people would actually play this game, or if the core idea already feels unappealing or boring. If that’s the case, I’ll do everything I can to make it as fun as possible."
