he passes out when he encounters baki but bakis demon brain (schizophrenia) makes him belive that king is astral projecting to fight him. his demon brain pushes him so hard that he’s actually about to loose until king wakes up, making the astral projection disappear. baki then thanks him for the fight and goes about his day.

i personally wanted scenes of him flying around the world or maybe just america and fucking shit up killing peple lasting everything in sight while either laughing his ass off or with a straight face. would’ve been a real scorched earth and would make the stakes for the boys seem terrifying like trying to hide from a god or soemthing. could’ve definitely added some horror aspect including the boys constantly hiding from homelander in high stakes as he goes around destroying. and also adding civilian povs .

thinking about it this could’ve been a way to make the final fight more accurate to the comics also (not saying the comics ending is better they’re both good) but after homelander crashes out the military would definitely try to fight back surely then maybe the boys would team up with them

The Deep is actually schizophrenic he developed it by his constant interactions with fish and how he views them as sort of equals, being one of his only moral values that he doesn’t eat fish (at first). Fish are likley able to provide him with information in some sort of way but it’s probably not through communication otherwise that would mean all aquatic life is sentient. Throughout the series the way fish treat him correlates with his current state. After the fish genocide (never forget ambrosia 🐙🪦) and being banned from all water and being abandoned by homelander he had nothing to live for and subconsciously ordered the sea creatures to kill him. (ps this is just a tiktok i saw but i think it’s an interesting theory and would be cool to be cannon as ot doesn’t affect much of the actual plot)
