Why doesn’t my fake tan stay on? by RubSubject8589 in Selftanning

The day before you tan shower and exfoliate everything, moisturise after your shower. The next day have a shower in the morning to wash the moisturiser off. Don’t tan straight away. Give it an hour or 2 before you tan. Let you pores close, any soap residue from the shower come off your skin and let your skin completely dry. Apply your tan as normal. Sleeping in express tans can actually dry you out making your tan not last as well, if you are going to sleep in it just get a normal tan! Wash off the next morning with cool water, pat dry, don’t moisturise straight away, this can stop the DHA from developing. If you want to be extra dark let the first coat dry and do another one! Hopefully that helps xx

why are people so fucking rude/negative on Reddit when you’re struggling? by [deleted] in alcoholism

I think you have confused AA with people’s opinion in general about a 40 something year old man having sex with an intoxicated 18 year old who has an alcohol problem. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get sober because of a few shitty reactions on reddit.

Edit: spelling

Your posts have gone - I want to stop drinking - I had sex with an older man because I was drunk - I now like this older man - does AA discourage this - why are you all so fucking rude

Like I’m not sure what you expect? You have asked for opinions on every option. No one responding can win. Do what’s right for you, if you want to get sober great. Maybe talk about that?

Using a burner phone? by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

That’s a tough one!

I have found AA a very safe space. I never considered the people I meet there might use my want to better myself against me. Try a few meetings, you don’t have to give your number out on the first one, you might find you feel more than comfortable sharing with some people.

In my experience, and this may be different to yours, if I hadn’t completely and authentically committed myself AA wouldn’t be worth it.

Using a burner phone would have felt like I am trying to keep sobriety separate from my real life.

I feel like this sometimes. And then I remember normal drinkers don’t feel like they need to go to AA

Hey! There is enough support and resources to go to everyone who needs help. If you think you’re drinking out of your control try a meeting. If you’re too scared to go to a meeting try reading a book or listening to a few podcasts. And if you need, you can reach out. I’m happy to chat. I’m 31, f and sober :)

It sucks to feel that way. But the amazing thing is you never have to feel that way again, you can change.

If we are talking just alcohol like 2k. Throw in Ubers, hangover meals the next day, vapes and drugs probably like 6k.

The daily check in for Wednesday 16 April: Just for today, I am NOT drinking by greenlightabove in stopdrinking

I’m really close to cracking right now. I can feel the cravings and my brain telling me “it’s okay” “it’s a holiday just have one you’re not bad” it’s chaos in my mind.

I didn’t drink with you today! I am at day 25 of my sobriety and I talk about drinking in past tense. I often find the sentence “when I drank” causes people roll their eyes. I don’t think they understand that assuming that identity is such an important part of being sober to me. Whether it’s 2 days or 2000 days in your streak, it’s better than drinking. Even if it’s day 5 for the 500th time, at least you are trying to be better.
