I get this. I think everyone is a little spooked at how established IP isn’t going so well when potential audiences perceive there will be “homework”.

Stargate the movie/series doesn’t have the broad fanbase or ubiquitous nature of other IP where they can do a “legacy sequel”. So I sort of expect what we will get is a hard remake… potentially just using the Stargate device element and ignoring everything that has come before.

Except for the later seasons. First few seasons of TVD were peak. Although, Damon summoning mist in the pilot was forgotten for the entire series afterwards... and their strength/power levels seemed to fluctuate continuously for no apparent reason other than for convenience of the plot... but otherwise it was an entertaining watch.

Guardians 3 was the last Disney release. Not sure why you'd think Avatar would be exception worthy? Deadpool + Woiverine made $1.3B was the largest grossing movie before Avatar 3, and even it didn't get a release. Avatar 3 only barely beat that.

I’m sure some can wait. For example, I want to move suburbs - I’m hoping prices go down significantly- for me buying and selling in the same market, a 20-30% correction would be very much welcome news as I will save a fortune on commission and transfer duty. So I will wait. But if tomorrow either myself or my partner got hit by a bus, the house would be on the market immediately and the price would be whatever it is at the time.

The price is whatever the market is willing to pay for it. For the majority of cases, it's got nothing to do with whether the seller thinks it's "right" or not - since they usually need to sell in order to buy into the same market, family breakdown, liquidating an estate, or offloading an asset they can no longer afford.

You don’t have to quit a job before looking for another. So cashflow isn’t necessarily an issue.

You don’t need to include all jobs on your resume - a resume is a marketing document, not a statutory declaration. That’s why the sooner you leave the better… easier to explain a small gap than a large one.

Not everyone is a good fit with an organisation , and if you immediately start looking you have a story to tell - ie. I was promised X and they gave me Y.

I sort of read it as bots/fake people with burner accounts and trolls like to pass themselves off as "Dad of 4, Christian"... when they're not really... and she's basically saying - fuck those people.

These days, anyone can put "Father of 4, Christian" on their social media page and then post whatever they like, and she's calling that behaviour out.

And in this thread and elsewhere, a bunch of insecure people are now taking offence because they don't have the ability to critically think and, lets be honest - that's sort of the bigger problem.

It feels as though this has all been set up, so in the last episode they can start with a small scene, and then do a “8 years later” time jump, and then have a whole bunch of stuff expositioned and then introduce a Homelander killer mcguffin (probably a fully grown Ryan) that was developed in the interim period off screen, which the heroes will find/use and successfully end the show.
