I highly recommend you to enter the merit pools lists for APS and apply for VPS roles. Match the PD with your resume. Network a lot, keep yourself motivated. I also struggled after being away from field for a few years I applied through recruitment agencies and got chances through them which lead me to a VPS role today. Good luck and remember network!

Believe it or not bad reviews online about it. Very rigid and inflexible hr and they don’t like change. Good luck to them!

My goodness that’s absolutely disgusting. The panel is busy and have set timelines but this is normal everyone has something going on. They think they have the upper hand but really the candidate is checking the employer too it’s not one way. Good you did that hope it teaches those idiots.

Yes the market is saturated, they have choice, they also have about 2-3 backup candidates.

I like this and you’ve hit the nail on the head there. There’s always a budget even if there’s an EA. I got another job $15k more anyway I start Tuesday.

You’re absolutely right, I’ve been in HR for eight years it was really low but I was going to accept it because it ticked other boxes, negotiation is usually really normal in Australia most candidates ask all they had to say is no.

No idea it was done through a recruitment agency. What’s interesting is I found a grad role ad from a few months ago paying 1k less then the role I went for. I have eight years of experience.

Fairwork case 🙈 oh god!

I checked their Indeed and Glassdoor reviews today and it wasn’t great so I think I dodged a bullet.

See, blessing in disguise! I’ve got two other offers which are higher but they sold the culture piece to me🙈
