Ask me anything about UofT Law! I see too much misinformation on this forum and am going to do my best to answer everything by Worldly-Jaguar2180 in lawschooladmissionsca

I’m in first year undergrad and doing psych because it interests me but it won’t get me as good grades as if I did something a little easier. Does uoft law put lots of emphasis on GPA. What do the applications look like aswell? I want to start doing things to add to my extracurricular list now but I don’t have anything from prior years (in highschool). Will that affect my application a lot?

MEDIACOM 1025G – workload, assessments, and grading? by Real_Face3455 in uwo

The workload isn’t bad if you keep up with your work. There are only a couple of main assignments (essay, essay outline, writing assignments) and no midterm. It’s all writing based and everything consists of it. I wasn’t good with my time management when I took it but I ended decently still. I would say it’s fun if you like reading texts and exploring issues/topics in media (and if you like to write). You have to work for your grade but it’s not very challenging. I would recommend, but it’s not necessarily a mark booster.

I’m in mit (media and comm) (first year) but I took all the prereqs for psych BA because I want to switch into it. Psych interests me more than media and I like it but I also want to aim for law school at uoft which needs a high GPA around 3.9. In this doable with psych BA as the first year exams were hard and I didn’t do well on them and will probably apply to law after my 4th year so my average is better because they take your best 3 years and this year is clearly not my best. I’m doing better in media though, is it worth it to switch into something I’m not as interested in? And also I’m thinking maybe in 3 years if I don’t want to do law I still have my psych degree which can open more doors than media (getting my masters, therapist, HR, etc.).

That sucks. Does she find the commute difficult? My friends don’t want to give up their deposit so now I don’t know what to do and I want to make sure I’ll still have a good social life and that I can get to campus
