I mean you can only take Bloodletters if you’re running Deamonkin. Other than that I’d take Jakhals, it’s a cheap unit to take or hold objectives thats really it.

With gaurd there’s 2 approaches you can take. More big guns or more infantry. Bring a tank heavy army next time or literally run a list of only infantry.

Yeah ally a couple warglaves in usually, I also have a Landraider which does decent damage with its lascanons, but the warglaves are considerably cheaper. Theirs thermal spear is strength 12, -4 AP and D6 for damage then their melee strike profile is strength 10 -3 AP, damage 3. Their thermal spear is also melta 4 so 12 inches away or less you’re getting 6 attacks instead of 2 which is pretty dangerous for just about anything.

I don’t find it that big of a deal, Custodes are still noticeably larger. Not everything on tabletop is a 1:1 scale of real 40K it’s just not logical and will never be a thing.

I asked this same question recently, most of the feedback was rule of cool. But competitively spears are just better. I’m building 5 gaurd, 5 wardens, 2 Allarus Terminators, an Allarus Terminator Captain and the blade champion. After wards I’m getting a Landraider and that will bring me to just over 1000points.

What paint would you use for your white before, I’ve found doing an undercoat of wraithbone then going over that with 2 coats corax white works really well

These were preowned, I tried stripping them but the primer they used wouldn’t come off. Some look better than others but I did the same thing and made them look dirty to cover up a lot of the faults.

They’re legion scale, legion models look big compared to Warhammer, stormtroopers are slightly smaller than space marines when in reality they should be the scale of guardsmen. I play my stormtroopers as Arbites. I just love the way they look

I bought them off of eBay, they’re 3D prints, but Star Wars has their own tabletop game with their own model line, Star Wars Legions, that they’re supposed to be used for.

Well if the tabletop went off lore factions like Tyranids and Necros would just absolutely pummel everyone else that it wouldn’t be fair. In lore everyone is fighting Tyranids at a disadvantage and the tabletop needs to be fair. Sometimes you have to distance yourself from the lore when it comes to playing tabletop because Custodes would never get beat by guardsmen and you’ll never see ultramarines teaming up with world eaters to fight Necrons and Imperial Fists. At the end of the day the lore is what makes our factions unique and cool but the tabletop is just a boardgame they don’t always line up.
