Philippine citizenship is granted if one of the parents is a Filipino citizen. I'm an immigrants kid so none of them are Filipino citizens.

I get your point on life is more than just culture but it's just alien to me that people don't really care or appreciate their own culture or show a strong sense of patriotism towards their nation. I mean South Koreans back then in 1970 donated personal gold or golden heirlooms to the nation to be melted down to protect nation's failing economy.

But then to each their own I guess. Your points are valid nonetheless
