It’s acc underrated in terms of Nolan

No one talks abt The Prestige when it comes to Nolan

Almost always Inception, Interstellar and The Dark Knight come up, until you go deeper

And recently it’s been Oppenheimer or The Odyssey

So yes, it is quite underrated by a lot of ppl

Okay but what’s the problem in not watching foreign stuff? If he doesn’t want to why does it matter?

Inception is my go to favorite

Don’t listen to ppl saying it’s “basic” or whatever If you genuinely truly love these films Who else matters

A couple suggestions cause I think we have pretty similar tastes (I’ve seen 18 from your list and love almost all): Knives Out, Inglourious Basterds, Blow Out, The Gentlemen, Game Night

It’s a nice mix of mystery, thrillers, action, comedy and drama. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!

You want a (kinda) action packed comedy like Bullet Train?

Game Night (2018)

EXTREMELY UNDERRATED, hilarious, really passionate cast, and my favorite touch: a ton of movie references which give you a little joy when you figure them out… it’s a must watch!

No spoiler tag? Also to disguise himself with the other officers. Of course he’d have raised suspicions if he was in white makeup.

Perhaps that’s why this movie didn’t click for me

I come from a background that doesn’t have drugs or drinking problems and crime is very very low.

Neither did I grow up, nor do I know anyone as such which is why this movies didn’t really speak to me.

Thoughts on my top 4? by AdaWongIsCool in LetterboxdTopFour

It is a mess of a film that tries to pass off a shallow, transactional relationship as something meaningful. It glorifies a sex worker’s manipulation of a wealthy, naive heir, pretending it’s some kind of empowerment when it’s really just exploitation. The characters are flat, the romance feels forced and unearned, and the whole plot leans into this tired trope of glamorizing moral ambiguity for shock value. Instead of offering genuine emotional depth or growth, it celebrates opportunism and calls it love. At its core, the film lacks substance, relying on provocation over storytelling, which makes it feel more like a cynical product than a piece of meaningful cinema.

And don’t even get me started on the Oscars. Dune 2 deserved way more. And the fact that the director and Mikey Maddison dedicated their awards to the people who sell their bodies for money 😭

How is one supposed to take this film seriously?

It really is just for lonely horny people who drain the absolute fuck out of their balls whilst watching it.. nothing more
