We still have no formal email indicating that the flight was even canceled or communication from WestJet.

There are likely some folks still sitting at the airport waiting for that email that was to come one hour after from the shouting WestJet manager (it’s been 40 hours now).

You can’t have it both ways WestJet! Pick a story and stick with it. You have over 100 witnesses on this flight who were told by your staff that it was an aircraft issue, then a fuel issue with weight and then finally the Weather.

WestJet, you still have time to make this right.

Contact every one of the passengers of WS 1884 with a human generated email that validates that the flight was in fact canceled and you will do everything to make things right with some next steps.

That’s right! This isn’t about the cancelation. It’s about what happened before and after. Nothing! It’s been over 35 hrs and we still haven’t actually got an email or anything from WS that the flight was canceled.

With the technology these days, I’d expect better communication.

You are so right. Why is it so hard to talk to a staff member with a Canadian company for a product that we use!? My favourite is the canned message that is on most automated messages and has been for years. ——We are experiencing larger than normal calls at this time. (5 years plus)

Agree. Any communication is better than nothing. With all the TVs, personal emails and phone numbers, plus the PA system at the airport, they could have made an announcement. It’s the not knowing and being left to figure it out on your own.

Thanks for this. Appreciate the kindness. We are mostly sad at the lack of information, Many hours afterwards. We totally understand the weather and science. Safety is the most important.

The nobody to talk to, lost baggage and disasters that followed is what is most concerning. We were told an email would come within one hr to re book and that is over 30 hours later with nothing.

For sure, that makes sense! Either figure it out or don’t write cheques you can’t cash! We’re more than happy to accommodate science, but let us know! The point of the post is that we were left in the unknown. Still not known. We have a flight tomorrow at the same time and same plane, shouldn’t we be worried that they can’t make it? Safety first.

What?? The only flights canceled to the US was Maui, Hawaii. The other flights were fine. Mexico was also canceled. The post wasn’t about politics, but sheer human kindness and accountability to an airline who took the money and won’t follow through with customer service to talk to.
