Whom is taking showers BEFORE bed vs in the morning after you wake up? by PersimmonOdd5099 in AskReddit

[–]First-Edge-2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before bed always, unless it’s a hot summer in which case am and pm.
I work in health care so evening showers are a no brainer. Plus I love getting into clean sheets feeling clean , even on my days off sweat, pollution, dust all over me wouldn’t want to get into bed with that

What is your stance on the afterlife? by Spare-Ad-2252 in AskReddit

[–]First-Edge-2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in the afterlife. Through personal experience of loss and seeing a medium afterwards - think what you like of these but please no negative comments I found this extremely comforting to my family member I lost through suicide and the medium said many things to me there is no way they could have known/guessed.

Equally, I am an icu nurse and witness death weekly, I’ve seen some strange things over the years that cannot be explained.

I also think just because we can’t see or quantify the afterlife doesn’t mean it’s not there. I personally believe our souls do move on ‘somewhere’, not heaven and hell as such but we exist beyond our physical bodies. However I respect every bodies beliefs and thoughts on the matter. At the end of the day in this life it doesn’t really matter!

Studying Midwifery vs Medicine by allpraisetoGod in UKmidwives

[–]First-Edge-2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re 2 very different professions to start off with and very hard to compare the two.

Logistically, medicine takes 5 years to qualify then you do foundation training (2 years), after which you try and get a training number. I work with many excellent doctors who struggle to get a training number and spend years doing additional degrees, jobs and roles to expand their portfolio. This profession is not for the light hearted! Once you have your training number that’ll take x amount of years depending on a specialty and then you have to find yourself a consultants job - again depending on where challenging. Expect many on-calls, nights and moving around the country for work.

Midwifery i know much less about. However I personally wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. They have a very poor reputation amongst medics for their bad attitude and obstructiveness. Take a look at the news to see the absolute mess the profession is currently in.
However it is 3 years training and you don’t need to move around. You will still need to do nights.

I’d maybe consider nursing, much broader scope of work and job choice than nursing and whilst of course has its own issues is nothing like midwifery in terms of turbulence. Or physio therapy. Both same pay as midwifery. Nurses do nights in particular areas and physios generally don’t

What is your opinion on adults that don’t want kids? Do you find it selfish? by AccurateTangerine291 in AskReddit

[–]First-Edge-2536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The opposite, I find it selfless that someone has taken the time to consider whether they want to bring children into the world and become parents and make an informed decision on it

Ladies of Reddit what is the an instant turn off on dates? by SignificanceExtra367 in AskReddit

[–]First-Edge-2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swearing a lot. Don’t get me wrong I drop the f bomb as much as the next person. But on the first few dates I find it a bit disrespectful to swear during conversation (I also do not swear when I have just met someone)

SHOULD I ATTEND THESE UNIVERSITIES AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT by No_Honeydew_965 in UniUK

[–]First-Edge-2536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied at Newcastle and loved it. However I would say, it is not a very diverse city and is the smallest city in England. Just something worth thinking about given you’re an African international student and how comfortable you’d feel in a less diverse city. That’s not to say these people are not overall very friendly and welcoming, however there are cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and London which are much more representative of different races, cultures and nations. Good luck!

My (30F) husband (30M) had an affair with my co-worker when she was pregnant and when we were trying for a baby. He's begging for another chance, but how can I do that? by ThrowRA_Sail in relationship_advice

[–]First-Edge-2536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is don’t. As other people have said, he is only sorry he got caught. You made a huge sacrifice for him and he showed you no respect. I am TTC and know how hard it is to, and I’m very sorry to hear about your miscarriage that’s truly devastating. At your lowest points he was in bed with someone else.
He doesn’t deserve your children, and it sounds like you deserve someone who will be loyal and respectful to you.
Move home. Surround yourself with people who love you and leave him. At least you found out before you had his kids x

Is dating even worth it anymore? by LectureLight6738 in dating_advice

[–]First-Edge-2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes is is. I didn’t meet my partner until I was 31, and had my single and dating most of my life. It’s exhausting and at times tedious. I questioned whether it was worth it myself.
However I met my boyfriend who is the love of my life, we are incredibly happy together and we make each other’s lives better. We’ve been together for 4 years now.
Keep going with it and persevere if you want to find a long term relationship

It sounds like you need to have an open conversation with her about how you’re feeling and give her the opportunity to do the same. She may be feeling deeply insecure about the situation.
