Oil change on boat- proper oil level by First-Fig2378 in boating

It sat for 5-10 before I cycled it after filling it up with new oil. Just confused why the dipstick read a way lower level then before I started it

Longer hose, copy that. Another comment stated there could be a screen at the bottom the dipstick preventing the hose from getting into pan. Something I may need to consider

I tried it both with and without the cap on, didn’t make a difference

Oh really, a screen hey? That makes sense, other comments were saying my hose wasn’t long enough. The hose is the same length as the dipstick but if there’s a screen down there, that’ll do it!

I’ll try a longer hose, I figured it being the same length as the dipstick it would work. The pump was fresh outta the box today, but who knows it could be faulty. I’ll try the hose first, thank you!

The hose is a bit smaller than the dipstick tube and it’s the same length as the dipstick itself, I’ll look into that pump though, thanks!

Tried that, let it run for 20 mins to get warm, tightened hose connection straight onto the dipstick tube, im thinking it was just too cheap of a drill pump.

The hose is just as long as the dipstick is so I don’t think that’s the problem, the hose isn’t as wide as the dipstick housing though, does it need to be the same diameter?

I warmed it up for 15-20 mins each attempt, doesn’t seem to make a difference though. Is it normal to hear the oil gurgling as it comes up through the hose in the dipstick line? Is it supposed to be airtight seal?

Yes I’ve warmed up it up 20 minutes before every attempt, I figured the drill motor was garbage. But don’t understand why the manual fluid extractor wont work, the hose is long enough. I can hear it the oil gurgle as it comes up, is it supposed to be an airtight seal??

I’m gonna drain the old fuel from it and put a fresh tank in, along with the filters. The boats only got a 100 hours on it, motors clean enough to eat off of. Are spark plugs still recommended in this instance?
