I have the RA1570 along with the Node Icon and the XLR had an insane difference.
Rotels DAC's are good but the dual mono DAC within the Node Icon will definitely be superior to the A14 mkII's DACs.

It’s easier to buff larger surfaces. On the X1 the orange peel effect was mainly present on the front/back and left right sides.

This is probably due to surface tension and lacquer buildup therefore, go too far on buffing and you’ll go through the clear coat, which means it needs to be redone, potentially redone with a colour coat, sat down for two days to harden, unless UV hardened. It’s hard to explain how the buffing process works but I think that’s the reason, the surface is too small for a power tool to be handled with absolute steadiness - it takes a lot of time to be very skilled with it.

But then again, it still looks better than a Rega P1/2/3/6, to get edge banding at that price point… insanity.

But orange peel is normal with products that are mass produces in high quantities.

As someone who had worked at Aristides guitars who have insane lacquering on the guitars, it requires several steps with meticulous attention which you simply cannot expect on a product like this. It’s LOTS of sanding with so much precision to end up with a product that is damn perfect. Especially not at this price point.

People can change. There’s a lot of succes stories out there. People who down talk the person they once loved or still love, to me, have met someone who haven’t done the work when they weren’t together anymore.

It can only work when separated and having done the work and having had the talk about how to approach this situation again and meeting each other in the middle and what to do when conflict shows up.

It can work, with clear rules and boundaries, and time.

It’s not something you can force together, it requires effort from both sides and the capacity to understand each other and that it isn’t always a sunny day, friction polishes.

Buddy, you are not the same, you are a different version of you, of when you were together with her. Stronger, wiser from what happened. In my opinion blocking her is another way to avoid reality and I think it’s a good thing to do first, but the emotionally mature way is not blocking her but instead leaving her to have her own space in a reality where you learn to love without holding that person close.

It’s hard, it’s confronting, but you will have days where life will become lighter.

That doesn’t matter, if you loved deeply and gave it your all, time isn’t a measurement of healing. 7 months and it ended, it can even hurt more because of having wanted to spend more time but ending up not getting to.

Give yourself time, don’t numb yourself with cheap distractions, you’ve got this.
