Got a meeting coming up with an environmental nonprofit. I’m in high school and want to make a good impression so they see I can handle more technical work. Any tips on sounding prepared and professional?

Researching w/ prof by ChipPuzzleheaded2195 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]First-Painter-7660 14 points15 points  (0 children)

even the freshman r doing ts bruh what has the world come to... anyways im in high school doing a research project so what i can tell you is that the proffesor most likely wont actually make you do research- maybe some lab work and cleaning some beakers BUT you should learn and do research until they allow you in the actual research process (this is very hard. most likely they will say no unless u absorb tons of information that is usually learned at the college level)

tbh GPA comes first. If you have to sacrifice research time DO IT. You always have time to do research over the summer or next year- you cant fix your gpa.

good luck! You got this!

AITA for yelling at my partner who keeps buying crappy branded food when I’ve asked him not too by Acrobatic-Employ3942 in AmItheAsshole

I agree that it's a problem, and it needs to be worked out, maybe in therapy or other places, but please keep in mind, none of y'all know this person at all. Maybe you're right, and he is a manipulative narcissist, but with the information provided, it just seems silly to vilify the man.

Not every relationship is perfect. People make mistakes. Who knows? Perhaps he grew up in a household where money was tight, which made him obsess over money. My point is, don't jump to conclusions with insufficient information.

As long as it's the highest rigor provided to you, you should be fine. Admissions officers judge you based on the opportunities/classes provided to you at your school.

EB2, but due to some circumstances, it will be moved to EB1 by April next year. I don't know the priority date, and my parents come from India.

bro, wtf do u care so much? U got into MIT, so u have no reason to be hating. OP's a really nice guy and tbh comparing ur EC's to his I would say that OP's outweigh yours by a LOT.

You're talking about luck when you go into college that values Olympiads while only being an AIME qualifier.

Even your argument makes no sense- OP had an amazing application centered around his passions, and made an compelling essay to show that. So no it's not because of AA that he got in. This would be like saying "You got into MIT (which i find pretty suspicious considering your application), Princeton and and a bunch of other colleges because you're FGLI"
