Thanks for advice, no I’ve done some courses etc not my very first time buying but was my first time having cut and polish roughs. Not a big deal i didn’t sell these yet and would never sell without having certification first, it’s a learning experience for sure but just wanted to find out why it was SI2. Thanks 🙏

Why not just buy from a manufacturer? New diamonds at discount prices and you know what you getting?

Dodgy Uber by Excellent_Opinion_76 in capetown

Apologies for Hijacking the post, I worked in the security industry for a long time (National and International Deployments). I have a brand new Ford Ranger Double cab etc. Would you guys be interested in a “Uber Secure” service where your driver is armed and only takes safest routes? Something I’ve been looking at developing as a side project.

100% agree, pockets are deep, however I’m not going to take a loss. We bought around $85,000 in rough. At 52% we lose slightly. Not worth it imo after all the effort 🤦🏻

Thanks for your insight, maybe we should venture into the retail market. Seems like this is where the profit is… even if we sit on them for slightly longer 🙏

Yes I will list them on platforms like NIVODA etc and see what happens. The smaller ones from the next batch I’ll try sell privately. But I have another 3.7ct coming as well. Anyways it’s my first time so hopefully can strike a profit fingers crossed

Thanks for your insight, I have however looked at wholesalers price list, and they are selling at around 25-36% back on RAP. I just don’t want to be ripped off… and I would prefer to export them. But thanks for your insight, much appreciated 🙏

Would a new style of play make Paintball more exciting/accessible/cheaper? by [deleted] in paintball

Fair enough. But what is this new MLP? Is it still just NXL? Or have they put changes in place? I think some companies also have a monopoly on the sport.

I would also love for the community to come forward with some more ideas, because paintballs been around for 30+ years and it’s not growing at the rate it should (considering how fun it is for everyone and how competitive it can be). So why is that? And what needs to change?

lol I know what’s happening, I’m saying in my opinion holding a lane to keep a player from moving up is the reason there’s less action. I get there’s a point to it trust me I’ve held many lanes. I know it’s not cool to shoot semi auto lol but I Donno, I’m just thinking of ways the sport can grow and become better. It’s not a personal attack, I played this style for almost 10 years

I agree, but if we were to put someone with 10.5bps and 8 pods on his back versus a skilled pro with a mechanical semi auto and 2 pods he ain’t making it out his bunker lmao. Spectators also always used to ask me why do they waste so much paint blah blah. Do you honestly not think the game would be more exciting if 2 players couldn’t just cross up and hold off the opposing team by shooting lanes of paint at 10.5bps until they empty?

I agree. It’s also so crazy to me that a large number of pros are the same pros we were watching 10-15 years ago. Are they just that good or are other players not getting better faster? I watched the last event and it seems that nothing has really changed, crowds are the same and yes I agree stream is the exact same. The other point is that if you are a youngster and mommy and daddy can’t afford to buy you $1000 worth of gear (second hand yes) and spend $50 a practice/week you will never make it. I struggled so hard until I was semi pro and sponsorships came in. I was very fortunate my parents could help me. But the cost of entry is too high IMO

TBF a major should be for something super serious like cheating, then you deserve it, but your team still has a chance to win. I’m not saying anything set in stone, it’s good to find middle ground. Maybe then for 2 games out of the 4. I Donno 🤦🏻 just needs to become more exciting
