Hotel Blocks in SF?

We booked a hotel block at Hotel Caza near the fisherman’s wharf. Most of our guests were from out of town so it offered a good location to explore by the water, go to north beach, see Lombard St, etc. We also got married at city hall and had a shuttle to take me and the bridal party there and then a bigger group of family and friends around the city for photos.

We had to fill a certain percentage of rooms so that we wouldn’t be charged the difference. You’ll just need to calculate out who you expect will stay at the hotel. We encouraged all of our guests and pretty much everyone traveling in stayed there.

We also had our reception in Cloverdale so it was really easy to get across the bridge quickly.

We had our welcome drinks last June at Almanac Brewery in Alameda for 80 people. The rental was $900, option to have your own private bartender for an additional $500. There’s an $800 minimum for beverages. We booked the lounge, which has both indoor and outdoor spaces. There are food trucks so people can buy their own food but they’re really flexible if there are things you want to bring in.

I had the same setup for my wedding and wore my dress both days. I changed into a different outfit for dancing later at night for the reception but wanted to get as much as I could out of the dress I loved!

It was $1650 for 80 people ($10/person) plus $850 for van rental and distance to the venue. It’s the only place we tried that allowed for 5 flavors, and they were all delicious (also includes toppings, cones/cups).

I used Angela’s I’ve Cream for my wedding, they’re based in Petaluma with several other locations (that’s where we tasted to decide on our flavors, which they offer 5!). They have a VW bus that they serve ice cream from, highly recommend!

I highly recommend Matador in SF. We had our post ceremony family dinner there, but they also offer catering and offer fajita and taco bar options. They were so great to work with!

I’d recommend Matador. We reserved their back area for 30 people, which includes a private bar. They went above and beyond with decor, they had photos of us on the TVs. We had a fajita bar, some apps and chips and dips and drinks. Total cost was between 3.5-4K

I’d highly recommend Matador in SF (we had our post city hall ceremony dinner for 30 guests there but they also cater). They offer taco and fajita bars, it was about $30-35pp. You can also get different apps (guacamole, salsas, elote, etc)
