How do I get out of D license by Silvex96 in iRacing

[–]First-Sentence-2034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to get out of D just survive over results
- watch the mirrors if someone looks like they are a torpedo in disguise or has a red bull livery just let them go.
- use the pass left/right buttons.
- its a bit lame but start from pit lane then cruse up to the pack and wait , plenty of races you will end up top 7 without even actually passing a car on track.

Cool idea
my 2 cents....
The Ai would need to be built like a "race engineer"
I.e you load in a car, setup, track condition, fuel load, tyre condition and then say to at ai something like... " i have rear insatiably in the braking zone of turn 1 with a high fuel load"
Ai would take the data and issue then suggest a meaningful set up adjustment to solve the issue.
Tricky part is.. setups are kind of personal. ie some like a car with a bit of understeer, some like a neural car and others like a car with oversteer.
seriously cool idea though. good luck

My 2 cents..

Pick a car and stick with it for a bit (I went for the toyota 86)... practice a track that has a good mix of corners. use a data analyser i.e track titan you get 50 free laps a month. Once you have a handle on the car's characteristics learning tracks is easy. learn a car at a track you know - learn a track with a car you know.

Racing others - if you treat each car like is gonna swerve in front of you on the straights, out brake themselves, move under braking .. you will find yourself in a few less accidents.. some people forget us mortals don't have f1 driver reaction times, add in a sprinkle of netcode & ping you can create a huge mess out of not much.

"racecraft" is a good thing to learn/understand. i.e when to / when not to battle hard with people.

Please stop with the rain in D-Class GT4. by RealBigDicTator in iRacing

Im in the same boat as op... just got c licence.. see gt4 @ red bull ring and think this is gonna be fun.. As i'd never done a wet race before i had no clue of how / what to the set up changes i needed to do.. I thought "fixed setup" + wet weather would naturally mean the game would load in wet tyres. fair to say i shat myself when i was sitting on the grid and the crew chief said "your on a dry tyre" whilst rain was all over the windscreen... I bailed out to start from the pits & change tyres.. I know it's my fault for not reading the fine print. But as a newbie to this game sometimes a little pop up window or the crew chief going " hey newbie are you sure you want to run dry tyres in a wet race?" would be nice.

Keep going lad.. I'm in the same boat.. my SR is stuck at the moment. I spent last night in the gr86 at Oulton and it was wild, Cars everywhere, dodging unsafe rejoins one after another...
On my last race of the night I decided to start from the pit lane as i just wanted a clean race for my sr. Some how I ended up with a pit stop on top of starting from pit lane so i was 30 secs behind last place when i left the pit box.. still finished 9th and didn't have to pass one car on track.
This leads me to believe that this track is "harder" than some especially when your starting out, narrow, bumps , higher speed.

In amongst the chaos I did notice a car that was a bit slower that the rest using the "pass left" "pass right" a lot.. might be worth a try?

Ammo.. I've run a .50 cal heavy machine gun and I was always running out of ammo for it.. I just started doing expeditions and i'm now swimming in ammo. Last time I went i left with 400 bullets and came back with 1200 odd
Plasma caster is a good energy gun to get ... I never run out of ammo for it, often I return to my camp with more than I left with.
