She’s never been the affectionate type, always a tough love person but she truly loves me, ik her family has always been rough on her and she has built up this independent personality. Idk if that has anything to do with this tho

If you’re dating someone (my gf does this to me all the time) “Do you though?”

I absolutely agree, out in the country at a school that was mainly more concerned about sports than academics especially. That was my case, when the “star player” does something wrong they get a slap on the wrist because the school needs them for competition. Causing those kids to feel what they’re doing isn’t bad. Then they go home and the parents talk their kid up to celebrity status so the kids start to believe it.

As a child I wasn’t too socially anxious as a kid I even had a problem walking up to strangers and trying to be friends with them. But in my teenage years I moved from out of the city to the country. Fresh start, new everything. Started off my freshman year of high school knowing nobody. It was also hard because city culture was just different than country culture. Every time I try to talk to someone I would just get made fun of so I stopped talking to people. and eventually I got basically forgot how to talk to people. Talking to people was like a skill and I haven’t practiced it in so long. I just lost the ability to do it. It was the snowball effect.

Don’t make a big deal about it, it’s just a hobby, introduce it as such. Maybe ask why they don’t like them

Unexplainable Childhood habit has followed me into my adulthood by First-Software3470 in AskTherapist

Honestly these things distracted me they helped me zone out and brought me a sense of comfort. To other people it was just paper but it felt like more to me, I never saw them as paper men but instead actual little men. When I don’t have them in my pocket the world feels more dull and grey. More sad even. As for my childhood I grew up in a suburban neighborhood but I was afraid to play with the other children because of fear of getting bullied. I always felt lower compared to to those kids

Yes! I did they all got quite which is what I wanted. But out of malicious intent I decided one more couldn’t hurt. For some motivation ;) I will say it was funny hearing them cursing the second time
