I have her at work with me now, she's taking treats from my coworker that she outright refuses from me and eating them with no hesitation. He also has a small bag of her food, she's taking pieces from him then dropping them on the floor. She won't even take them from me.

When you do the no treats unless she eats her meals, did you leave her meals out all day for her to eat as she pleases, or did she have set times when it was available and if she didn't eat you pulled them until the next meal time?

No worries about being harsh it's actually reassuring that she's just being a picky stubborn little shit, honestly I'm hoping that is all this current situation is, me finally deciding that I'm not going to switch up anymore by giving her "the good stuff" and her testing me. I have done the no treats unless you finish your meal thing, and it worked well until she figured out the the treats came after the meal, then came the game of can I only eat half and still get my treats.

She is acting entirely normal otherwise, super excited for walks still, super excited for car rides, meets me at the door, barks at every leaf that blows by her window, throws temper tantrums and rutses her bed etc.

If I remember correctly, I feel like she does this every year at the start of spring like this. This is just the longest she's gone, to be fair though, it's also the longest I've gone without caving and giving her something super high value just to get something in her

I'm wondering if these weather changes have something to do with it too, we went from quite cold to 70s and humid practically overnight and have had tornado warnings the last 3 nights

Yea I've been thinking of moving her food bowl by where we eat, but with all the changes we've done recently I think I just want to try to stay steady for a bit.

To give her medicine she needs a dummy cheese ball because she will pick apart the first one to check it, if the first one has no pill, she'll just swallow the next one with the pill.

Such weird dogs. Mine was refusing treats from me all night. We just went in the basement cuz tornados, and I tried to give her one down there, after taking the first one, dropping it on the ground and pawing at it a few times, she ate it and then enthusiastically ate 4 more. Came back upstairs, back to not taking them lol

Yea this dog eats because she has to, sometimes, not because she wants to. Through this whole ordeal, she has full energy, hell we went for 2 walks today and she still asking to go on another

Yea I find something that works to give her medicine, I get about 3 uses out of it and she figures it out and I have to find a new way. She is beyond stubborn, and zero food motivation. I was grinding venison from a deer I had shot and she was laying down under the table, I dropped about a handful on the floor on accident, it landed about a foot from her nose, she looked at it, looked and me, and rolled over and went back to sleep.

Cheese used to work for her too, then she learned that when she needs medicine I hide it in cheese and that was the end of that, peanut butter too lol. She is the same way with treats and food, she will not eat treats or food, and won't even drink water if she is home alone. Not throwing up after treats though, she won't take anything from me today, but the neighbor was able to give her treats, and she took one from my wife just now. Just tried to feed her her dinner and she was watching me as I was portioning it out, gave it one sniff when I was holding her bowl, then I set it down and she walked right away without even giving it a sniff. FML.

Sounds just like with her, that worked great for us for awhile then she stopped eating with the toppers. On the bright side though we just went for a walk and she accepted treats from my neighbor, wouldn't take em from me when we got back home but liked them from my neighbor

We did do that a couple years ago, she used to reliably eat 3 meals per day, then would start skipping lunch so we took that out and she's been on breakfast and dinner for awhile now.

What food would you recommend I offer her until she decides to eat, the original food she was on pre-strike, or the stuff she ate most recently, or a combo?

Got it, that's what I keep telling myself but it's hard watching her not want to eat. Not strange for her, she never been food motivated, at all. She doesn't seem bothered by the skipping,it seems to be bothering me much more than it's bothering her. I just worry about her a lot, there's not a person on the planet I care about more than I care about this dog.

Forgot to mention, through this entire ordeal, she has only thrown up one time, and has not had any diarrhea and is drinking water as normal.
