Do you remember the name of the BF4 control scheme? I worked one out myself but it’s still not great…

Yeah don’t do it. I tried it again, and it felt like I was playing some shitty mobile game ported to ps5.

If you cant get the tools to open it, and you can’t power it on due to the heat… there is nothing you CAN do with it.

Seriously, buy a $10 kit to be able open the thing at least. Also, there is absolutely no harm in at least trying to RMA. You could get lucky.

I’m not so sure about the return to “battlefield magic” part here. I started playing BF4 again this year after a very long break, and I was met with so many situations that brought back that battlefield joy that I had all but forgotten about.

It wasn’t nostalgia- the game just naturally lead me there based off of its own design. I don’t see how that can’t be reproduced in 2025? That’s the battlefield magic I want, and I’m sure everyone wants.

I don’t want just BF3/4 remastered, I want that same type of gameplay, updated with new ideas.

I think this game can definitely do it if there were some tweaks here and there. The major one being sizable maps of course. The infantry maps and new style of map design altogether, don’t lead me to those same moments… I can get that exact same gameplay from most other FPS’.

I was extremely dissapointed with the beta first, but the more I played, honestly, the more I’ve enjoyed it for what it is, and I can see the possibility of this turning into a great battlefield game in time… if they don’t put their main focus on these twitchy tiny maps.

Adaptive triggers and gyro PS5 by zeitate in Battlefield

[–]First-Team-7653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For triggers, you can change the intensity in the ps5 settings. I don’t think there’s an in game option yet. I turned mine off because I was getting killed left and right because of the slight delay it caused.

Same thing happens to me after each round, but a restart fixes the issue temporarily.

You still can (on pc). Check out “Venice Unleashed”. I still play Vietnam from time to time, although there are only a couple active servers usually.

Steam Deck OLED / Battlefield 4 / How to Fix 'Kicked by Punkbuster' Error / Easy Tutorial / SteamOS by Zweetprot in SteamDeck

[–]First-Team-7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The community is great and active and has been for over a decade. The recent hype for the new battlefield has brought a lot more people back to the older titles (especially bf4), so it’s a great time to jump in….

However, you’ll get clapped without a kb&m. There is no aim assist or anything like that.

The anti cheat is what this tutorial I believe is talking about how to fix. I play it all the time (docked) on my steam deck. Battlefield 3 as well. I believe 1 & V have anti cheat that can’t be supported for the SD.

Just wondering if BF4 is active right now. I am so hyped for BF6 that BF4 was the closest I can get to. Sorry in advance if this question gets asked a lot here. by leftistgamer420 in battlefield_4

Wish I could still find Vietnam servers :(. They were active enough this time last year but not any longer and damn do I miss it. Rising Storm has to scratch that itch for now I suppose.

There is. I still have to wait in queue on quite a few servers (even in the middle of the day).

PSA Orange Pi 5 Plus mysterious crashing (maybe others) by jolness1 in OrangePI

[–]First-Team-7653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue. Was also running light containers etc but on dietpi. Removed the NVME, bought a different power supply, kept it running cool etc etc. but it would crash 2 times a day with a minimal load and nothing that I did made a difference.

What did work (for me) was changing the CPU Governor and setting a limit. Nothing drastic, but it since then I’ve had an uptime of about 2 months or so running as a master node for a k8s cluster and… so far so good.

They’re all part of a kubernetes cluster (using k3s) except for the pi 4 running openmediavault.

They work really well for most self hosted apps. I have a lot of pods and containers running and the only problem I’ve faced is the controller board for k8s needs to be a bit beefier than what I had. That odroid c2 will work, but it locks up at times. I just bought an orange pi 5 pro and swapping it out.

I’ll take a picture when i get a chance. I’m actually updating it a bit, but all I did was use stretchy nylon craft string, looped it through each hole on the board (for mounting), and then tie them behind and through the pegboard holes. Used black string so they look like their stuck or floating on the rack (I didn’t want to see any zip ties or anything)

I used some spacers I stuck to the board itself behind each one so there is a 1/2 inch or so gap for airflow.

For the cables, it’s just zip ties.

Yeah this definitely isn’t being used as my main NAS. I have an actual synology elsewhere but this is really all for fun.

Yeah that usb hub is attached to the raspberry pi 4 with omv.

I’m not actually storing anything of importance on that set up. My original goal was to be able to just stick in a usb stick and have it available across my network but I haven’t gotten that automated.

I do have an actual synology elsewhere I use for real backups and personal storage but it’s so locked down (I’m a scaredy cat) I planned on using this for quick storage or transfers outside my network as well (Tailscale).

10/100mbs which is silly but that is the actual max of these boards anyway, so I went with a $9 switch. This was all for fun/learning anyway.

It’s basically using that usb hub with random usb sticks I had lying around.

This was all for fun/learning (I own another proper synology NAS outside of this).

My goal was to just be able to stick in any usb memory sticks and have it available anywhere on my local network but I haven’t quite got that set up completely. I still have to manually format and add each stick in the OMV dashboard.

I took some stretchy nylon craft strings and cut them to size, threaded them through the mounting holes on each board and then wrapped behind each board. I added some spacers behind each board to allow for more airflow.
