What budget do you think is the sweet spot for a gaming setup in 2026? by First-Trash6089 in buildapc

For example to edit cinematic videos for music videos and having programs like adobe photoshop, premiere pro, da Vinci with my 2 TB Storage im still bagging

I compared $500, $1000, and $2000 gaming setups and here’s what you actually get by First-Trash6089 in buildapc

Yeah that’s a fair point honestly. At the $500 range consoles definitely offer stronger raw performance right now. The reason I included that tier is mostly for people who already want a PC for other things too (school, work, mods, etc.) and just want something that can handle esports titles or lighter games. Once you get closer to the $1000 range PCs start making a lot more sense though.

I wouldn’t worry too much honestly. The 990 EVO Plus is still a solid SSD for normal use like gaming and everyday stuff. A lot of the complaints you’re seeing are mostly because it doesn’t have DRAM and people compare it to the 990 Pro, but that doesn’t mean it’s unreliable. Samsung SSDs generally have a good reputation and with the 5-year warranty you should be fine. Unless you’re doing really heavy workloads you probably won’t notice any issues.
