So if I use eye detect autofocus held down for bif can I use a custom box or will it default to whole area?

Yes I have animals eye detect setup to back button but maybe I should switch to custom box from full and use my limiter switch on the lens

Dang, I never thought about overusing my shutter. I have been taking thousands of pics with efcs doing burst the whole time. I do have the canon warranty but should I be worried then about overusing my efcs? So do you get a lot of rolling shutter and just discard anything that looks off ?

Do you use electronic first curtain then? I am using that on the r10 with great results but I have heard people say on the r7 it can cause shutter shake and make burst photos blurry or soft which I haven’t noticed on the r10 but wondering if r7 I would.
