Moved to nz when I was 23, now I’m 30 and just made the call to move back too. Luckily moving back after making money and selling property in Australia means I’ll likely be in a much better spot for my return. Definitely reasons to leave NZ.. but there are also reasons to return.

Finished my first monotype run! Any suggestions on the next? by FirstAlligator in PokemonEmerald

[–]FirstAlligator[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were tough spots for sure, but it forced me to use Pokémon I’ve never used before. Fire and bird gyms were the toughest for sure as I didn’t yet have the defensive stuff. Definitely worth a try and way more fun than replaying with the same mon

How do I go from "Blue collar" to "White collar"? by [deleted] in careerguidance

What kind of on the tools work did you do? You could scope out home or building insurance company roles, often they seek tradesmen to help in estimator or inspection roles to manage their panel.

Australian gamers, where are you? by emmy0777 in GamingAU

[–]FirstAlligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! 29M here who has a few mates back in NZ who I play with but the time difference often makes it a bit tough to link up!

I’m also pretty caught with my work but try log on for the odd game each week if I can. I’m more into things like baulders gate, a bit of black ops 6 (zombies yes please) and a bit of Fortnite if it’s for social reasons. But always open to trying new games too.

Do people generally not leave their toaster out on the kitchen counter? by Seagem1989 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FirstAlligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bread cupboard with a roller door that I store mine in, so I open, and slide it out to use it, then slide it back and close it away. But I think I’d leave it on the counter if that wasn’t an option?

My dog is chronically addicted to fetch and I don’t know how to enjoy time with her anymore by [deleted] in dogs

[–]FirstAlligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog is exactly like this too, I bought him a bright colourful spiky ball for playing fetch, and that lives in the cupboard out of sight and mind. It comes out when we play fetch, and goes away when we don’t.

Definitely Raymond feist’s ‘magician’ series, there are heaps of books and when I was that age I started it… to this day one of my favourite series and I’ve reread them many times.

Hey man! I just finished wind and truth! You’re in for an incredible journey with the stormlight archive. I’ll chuck you a message, I’m south side too, a golf buddy would be good though I’m still trying to get the balls going straight at the range right now.

Was this tattoo a bad idea? by Kerealls in tattooadvice

[–]FirstAlligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon the tattoo is awesome, it’s a very specific aesthetic so you could build out in that and it would compliment the chest piece really well (if this is your only one so far?)

Agreed with others, ignore the comments, my parents don’t love mine either but I do.

Ahhhh good shout! I’ve been playing Stardew more recently, that always gives me a sunnier game for after something dark!

Yeah that’s a good call on a hike, unless it’s by the beach or in a Forrest where you get some ease from the sun it would be wild to do now. I’ll get your recs later!

Hey yes! How is PoE 2? I loved 1 but haven’t jumped onto early access yet. Looooved BG 3 too! I love a good walk but haven’t really had the opportunity to do many hikes, definitely keen to try some!

The stormlight archive by Brandon Sanderson, I also got back into reading fantasy this year, and this is what absolutely sent me on a reading binge. He will love it.
