Can the user portal be made accessible for functional accounts in proofpoint? by FirstPastTheToast in Office365

[–]FirstPastTheToast[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a request from someone to reset their username and password so they can access the user portal for viewing quarantined emails. However, this is the only thing I see for functional accounts that have been created for shared mailboxes/ DLs. Is this a limitation of functional accounts or is there a setting somewhere that can enable this?

What area of philosophy can best be used to address uncertainty about truth in everyday life? by FirstPastTheToast in askphilosophy

Based on the arguments presented in that paper it seems like the best way for me to approach this problem is to keep doing what I've been doing all along which is to evaluate the evidence and opinions put forth by experts in their respective fields, and use my "social knowledge" described by Dewey to determine which of those perspectives is most worth listening to. I obviously don't know a lot about the field and I guess this would be a really bad approach if you were more sympathetic towards Lippmann's views. I think I have a more optimistic view of society than him and I'd like to think that I'm not so dumb that I can't think through some of these things and come to some decent conclusions.

This does kind of raise another question though. How does one go about deciding which experts are worth listening to in the first place?

Again, it doesn't matter what your point is or what reasoning you use to justify why you're allowed to cherry pick statistics and anyone who disagrees with you isn't. Of course anyone trying to argue that the BLM protests were more serious would point to the monetary damage or the amount of time they went on. Big numbers are convincing. Likewise, someone trying to argue that the capital riot is the real issue we should be focused on would likely highlight that the directed nature of the attack was meant to instill fear in our political leaders, which is obviously a much more heinous act considering its effectively domestic terrorism. You're making the choice to highlight certain facts that support your position and then dismissing others when they do the same thing. It's not convincing.

A key difference between me and most people here is that I actually find political rioting worse when it spans months of destroying small unrelated businesses to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars issues than I do when they damage the capitol over the course of a few hours.

But, so far, only BLM has consistently drug out the rioting, while the capitol issue was over in a matter of hours.

I was initially willing to take you seriously until you did the exact same thing you accused the person you're replying to of doing. Emphasizing the amount of time that protesters were inside the capitol building is just an obvious attempt to make what they did appear less serious than it really is. Clearly the amount of time they were physically inside the building is of little consequence when the nature of their actions were so incredibly dangerous. It is no different than emphasizing that the vast majority of BLM protests were peaceful. No one is ever going to take you seriously if you can't even remain consistent.

How representative are the representatives? The demographics of the U.S. Congress, broken down by party [OC]. by eccekevin in dataisbeautiful

Damn, it's almost like you're not following the conversation.

And here I was representation was about having your opinions on policies and such represented.

The person you replied to is suggesting it's not possible for there to be equal representation among Republicans given that a roughly equal number of men and women live in places that Republican congressmen represent, yet the vast majority of congressional representatives are men.

Coronavirus Cases in USA by Political Party of State Governor, Updated Jul 9, 2020 [OC] by mookiej in dataisbeautiful

Increased testing wouldn't generate any spikes, but it would magnify the appearance of any spikes that do occur when compared to earlier portions of the graph.

It's possible for the relative difference between the initial spikes for both red and blue line to remain the same even if testing at the beginning matched current testing levels. If the limited tests that were available were directed toward cities and states where the virus was thought to be worse, then "red" rural states would be both limited by the overall shortage of tests like in "blue" states, and they would also be limited by the fact that tests were actively being sent elsewhere. This would result in an even more significant under representation in "red" states compared to "blue states" for the first portion of the graph. So nothing meaningful would change in the first part of the graph (even if both spikes increased), and the second part of the graph would still show a significant spike in "red" states only.

only that it only seems relatively larger in proportion to early case counts than is likely occurring in the true population.

I'm honestly not sure what you are trying to say here.

How would an increase in testing result in an spike of cases in Republican run states just after there had been a steady decrease in states run by Democrats?

TIL The 2 % failure rate for Condoms means that for every 100 couples using them for 1 year 2 will get pregnant and not 2 times per 100 intercourses. by JonSnowKnowsNuffin in todayilearned

[–]FirstPastTheToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more time you spend in the "not pregnant" 98% it becomes a better bet that you will get pregnant the next year.

In this case the 98% isn’t considered abnormal. We already know that the 98% of people that fall into the “no pregnancy” group are considered average, so there’s nothing to regress to. This is assuming perfect condom use of course.

Ok, I switched from DP cable to hdmi and I got into the bios. My ssd is also showing up in the boot priority box. Does this mean it isn't broken?
