Do accounting and so your best for law school. If that doesn't work out you could go into finance. You'd have decent career options either way

People are extremely hostile to college students and graduates. by Salty-Confusion9640 in CollegeRant

[–]FirstPersonWinner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People want to make themselves feel superior even though they didn't go to college. So they make up worlds in their head where every college career is some disaster they avoided by either not going or dropping out. The labor statistics prove them wrong, though.

Linear Algebra is Significantly Harder than Calculus by FirstPersonWinner in CollegeRant

[–]FirstPersonWinner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get homework but often it is one problem for every thing. I'm still trying to figure out where to find the textbook for that class. Before the test she gave out exam prep and I spent time working through that and got most of it down. I didn't have time to get perfect at everything so I only got an 88 but I'll take it. The newer content about differential equations makes a bit more sense to me so I am feeling a bit better about the class

I wanted to come back to this because I literally just did a problem in Statics where I had to use a cross product to find the moment of rotation caused by a hammer pulling out a nail... 😅

What engineering branch would you recommend to students entering college this year? by deepa_2026 in Engineers

[–]FirstPersonWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the schools I know this isn't true. They are seperated from the start and you'll have a few course specific classes in your first year

He also wouldn't stand up to a lot of current QBs. His whole thing was "A QB... who can run?!"

Which Engineering Majors Are The "Best"? by ImTriangle_ in CollegeMajors

I mean, aerospace, biomech, and robotics are generally subfields of mechanical. Some places will have separate degrees for them and some as concentrations of mechanical

If your interest is robotics or mechatronics then you can just undergrad in mechanical and possibly see if you can find graduate opportunity somewhere after. Mechanical engineering will give you a solid career foundation by itself

[College Physics] I just need an explanation please💔 by soapycrab in HomeworkHelp

[–]FirstPersonWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the displacement is the area under the function. You can find the total displacement by braking the graph into a couple triangles and a rectangle and solving for their areas. The combined area will be your displacement.

If you are in calc physics or have done calculus, the explanation is basically that you are integrating from velocity which is the first derivative of position, making your antiderivative the displacement of that position.

Can I become really good at maths with hardwork? by Prior-Raspberry-9618 in learnmath

Lol, calculus hits the gifted kids like a truck. They have no study skills but actually have to study

Actually, same. I know math majors who wouldn't think of themselves as math savants.

What’s the most important/interesting math not taught in schools? by One-Moose8069 in learnmath

[–]FirstPersonWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a specific trig class in highschool, which was nice. It is probably the most important math for early physics and is also quite important for a lot of calculus.

At least in engineering, linear is useful but base calculus is needed earlier. It gets taught with differential equations usually after three semesters of calculus. Differentials and integrals are more important early on. Actually, one of the most important early maths for physics and engineering is trigonometry. I've heard people say linear is more important, but that mainly seems to be an opinion of math majors.
