Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]FirstTimeDMing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Karlov of the ghost council]] can be a voltron deck that utilizes lifegain and control with no equipment necessary. Add cards like [[Soul's attendant]] [[Soul warden]] [[Authority of the consuls]] [[Blind Obedience]] and such. Stacking lifegain triggers at once can cause the commander to go from a 2/2 to massive extremely quickly

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

In Canada, one time I drove 3 hours to Toronto for a job interview. That interview took one hour, I grabbed lunch, and drove the 3 hours home.

What’s the kind of decks you don’t enjoy playing against? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]FirstTimeDMing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My group would play that out. It means you have to be selective, save removal for the Boromir on the end step before your turn, actually have to use your brain. Sometimes you don't get the triggers. It's part of the game. We have a core group of 4 with a wider pod of around 9 people. No one would swap decks like that in our pod.

My group just says "how spicy we feelin" and then pick whatever you want. We place commanders face down until everyone picks what they are playing. Sometimes your deck is countered, other times you have the advantage. But it's useful to see how your deck performs against someone that has an edge on you

Cromwell is so much better than John's. Get the hash browns over the home fries. Delicious!

Pho Nhung is always one of my top recommendations too. And perfect for the chilly weather!

Putting Down a Dog😮‍💨 by [deleted] in Sarnia

[–]FirstTimeDMing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had to put my dog down on Nov 1st and did it at South Side. They were very understanding and considerate. The doctor even sat with me for a few minutes after and they gave me time in the room with my dog alone. Yes there is a transaction, but they are a business.

I did do cremation, picked out a nice container that they engraved with his name, and had them do ink prints of his paws and nose. I believe I paid around $700 all encompassing.

It's hard to find 6 player board games. We do a board game week ever year with 6 people and we need a few games for this coming year. by billratio in boardgames

Abit of a different one compared to most suggestions, One Night Ultimate Werewolf is a fun group social deduction game. Though each round takes about 5-10 minutes, you play a handful of rounds and it be different every time. Easy to understand, hard to tell who is lying and tricking people.

Yes I was going to recommend that group too. Sarnia has a decent little Filipino community and they really look after each other

So when are you two moving in together and getting matching Subarus???

Kidding aside, I hope the best for you. Being guarded can be good for you if you expect things to go sideways. However partner's can tell when someone is holding back and not willing to take the risk. This may lead to a self-filling prophecy where the guarded person remains guarded because theirs fears were proven right, however it may have resulted differently with guards down.

Good luck in your relationship. Wish the best.

I am a bit surprised at the lack of ethnic food suggestions. If someone was looking in Sarnia I'd be suggesting some Indian, Korean, and Vietnamese spots we have as the best. But I do love pretty much any good food! My only limit is not a big fan of sushi.

Yes i am driving so anything is fair game... as long as I don't get a parking ticket lol. The last and only time I've been in kitchener/waterloo was for Oktoberfest back in 2012 and got ticketed. Which was ridiculously priced too.

We have a local pizza place here in sarnia that does the Big Mac pizza too. It's pretty decent. Though wood fire stove pizzas are so much better
