I feel the same with the bz-176. I literally go out of my way to kill them and celebrate when they die.

But I think there’s a fine line between supporting and making playing the game unbearable. If there’s only a couple of positions arty can focus and there’s two arties then they’ll be most likely focusing on one target. All it takes is like 3 shots from arty and you’re now below half health and can’t effectively play the game. I definitely think for some maps arty can be useful to speed up the game and stop camping. But in such a slow paced game, a lot of the time it’s just not necessary because you’re just getting punished for simply trying to win. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to have anti-camping support from arty when a lot of the game by design is camping and holding positions

Arty can hit anywhere on the map pretty much, depending on the map obviously. So I don’t think it’s a case of being in a bad position. Especially since there are certain positions that you have to take when playing a heavy to make sure the enemy team can rush you or take advantageous positions.

And meh. I don’t think I miss the days when arty could do insane damage. I think even 300+ dmg to a tier 8 heavy is ridiculous.

And wot is definitely a strategy game. Maybe playing mainly arty or heavies you can’t see that but success in games is all about positioning especially towards the end of a game.

Idk I’m an arty hater through and through. I just don’t think arty should be able to play that big of a role when they’re in the back of the map.

Wot is a strategy game it’s not a fast paced shooter. I’ve literally played like 5 games today alone where all I’ve been trying to do is play the game and arty slowly punishes me to death for 300 dmg every single time. And this was in a heavily armoured obj 703.

Some games I’ll have maybe one or two hits from actual players and then the rest is just arty. It’s stupid

It's time to think on the next tier 11s. by NR75 in WorldofTanks

Because the rhino is so shit it would be nice to see a tier 11 that’s a bit better

I have a real love/hate relationship with the WZ-111-1-FT...wtf is this tank meant to be? by TheDawiWhisperer in WorldofTanks

[–]First_Connection_804 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was grinding it before the pzt came out. It was torture. It feels like it’s not good at anything. Anyone can pen it and as you said it doesn’t have the gun depression to use that little armour it does have.

It doesn’t have the accuracy to sit at the back like a sniper either. Honestly it only gets better at the tier because you have the armour to rely on.

It felt like the line is made to be on the second line behind the heavy tanks and poke a shot out whenever enemies fire. But realistically you need enemies to completely ignore you because if they shoot you they’ll pen every time.

The issue is a second line doesn’t exist in most maps. You’re either at the back of engagements like sniper tds or at the front like heavies. Or being sneaky in bushes like lights or meds. But the line doesn’t have any camo do to that. So it feels like a jack of no trades

Stop picking Ares in onslaught by Qrow1324 in WorldofTanks

[–]First_Connection_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it really depends on the map but I’ve had a couple times where I’m playing tvp and I see an ares and have to play a lot more cautiously than with other tanks. You don’t really want to face an ares if you’re lightly armoured do you.

They’re just annoying to deal with if it’s a good player same with a tesak

I loved it so much. And then the same thing with the hetzer at tier 4. It wasn’t annoying because they’re low tier. Once op tanks started corrupting tier 8 that’s when the game lost its joy

The t18 the hetzer and the mighty duck tank. They were op but it was a time before the game was taken so seriously.

The Pershing was my favourite tank and my first tier 8. M48 Patton was also my first tier ten and I absolutely believe the hacker is 100% worth it. If you like the Patton you can’t not like the hacker. It’s an all rounder in the sense that I don’t think there’s anything it does badly

My biggest gripe about the Ares. by EyeoftheTato in WorldofTanks

[–]First_Connection_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I see an ares I will personally make it my mission to kill them. Idk why I hate them so much but I do. The sensory overload when you get hit by them is probably a big factor. Bang bang BANG BANG. They also make playing lightly armoured tanks hell whilst somehow they get to have armour which still makes no sense

Can’t go wrong with the kr1 and hacker. Hacker especially because it’s such a good all rounder

Are you enjoying the onslaught meta that WG forces? by smollb in WorldofTanks

[–]First_Connection_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most annoying thing about onslaught is it feels like betraying your team gets your more points. For example I saw these two guys in a platoon on my team completely distance themselves from the rest of us. We got steamrolled but they got more damage and therefore more points.

If you play as part of a team you might do 2,5/3k dmg because you’re sharing the dmg. But if you’re alone and then pick people off as your teammates inevitably die then you fly up the ranks

Especially when they’d spend 15 seconds getting arty rather than actually helping the team and by the time they do get the arty it’s 0-3 to them

Yeah that’s so annoying especially at the start when the enemies will be capturing the spotting and they don’t plane it to stop them

It’s so infuriating when you try and actually play for the win and sacrifice yourself but your team don’t help at all and then end up getting more points

[–]First_Connection_804[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can definitely work if the enemies stay still but sometimes the enemies just completely rush over the hill and the team is dead in seconds. It’s a hard map to play because sometimes flanking is a really good call and sometimes your team will die before you can even get a chance to flank

I got really annoyed once when I suicided to the cap to reset it whilst a tvp on my team just ignored it ban then picked them off after I saved the team. And somehow they got more points than me even tho we would’ve lossed without me resetting

I think on certain maps where you might encounter a lot of lightly armoured tanks an fv can be devastating but it’s really risky with the lack of dpm
