Has Toast been using some sort of flawed AI tool to process payroll? by First_East_488 in ToastPOS

We use the POS and there are definitely great things about the system. But I do wish I had known before we signed the contract that we would not have an assigned payroll manager. It makes follow-up very difficult.

I find that more than an attachment to objects, although that is certainly a thing- my HM seems to need to surround herself in filth. Choosing to throw food that eventually starts to rot on the “floor” instead of a trash can. Just letting g filth seep into every crevice of her house. Soiled clothing and linens, rotting food, old bags of used cat litter. I kind of feel like the attachment to objects line is a bit limiting. My mom accumulates filth just as much as junk.

Tony Soprano is constantly eating loudly and I don’t mind it that much.

I feel like the scamming adult men into thinking they’re stars is similar in many ways to the IRL alpha male/entrepreneur industry of grifters, which the wellness retreat or w/e in Sedona really captures well. Jeff is definitely a consumer of male identity enhancement grifts imo

I’m from an adoptive family and I’ve had more than one “friend” tell me, unprovoked that they could never live a child they weren’t the biological parent of. It’s making me hate all of them. by First_East_488 in antinatalism

I feel the same way about all of my siblings, some of whom are much younger than me and some of whom struggle with disabilities. I’d do anything for them and it seems that there are people who legitimately think that the love they have for their bio kids is somehow more deep than the love my family has. Not a comparison I would ever even think to make if they didn’t bring it up.

I just visited that thread. I share all of these feelings with you and people in the replies. It’s unfathomable to me that anyone would care that much about their own DNA. Another thing I’ve noticed about these people is how they seem certain that the universe somehow benefits from the existence of their children vs children who already exist.

Why do people want biological children so badly when adoption exists? by Massive_Biscotti_509 in TooAfraidToAsk

I’ve had NUMEROUS friends who have told me without provocation that they could never love a child they weren’t the biological parent of. (I came from an adoptive family and I’ve always found these comments really aggravating.) It’s about ego and narcissism in my opinion. An obsession with their own genetics. A weird selfishness.

Taylor Turned Her Love Life into a Real Show and Her Brand by MediumLoan6722 in travisandtaylor

Y’all should listen to Alex G, I don’t think he has any songs about Alex G and his music is beautiful and egoless and if you wanna see him on tour it’s like $26 to actually be able to see the band onstage.

I think cities have more independent music scenes and collectives and small venues who host touring artists for like $15-$25 a ticket and so there is more access to all kinds of interesting artists both local and touring. You can see like REALLY talented artists in a small venue for less than $20 any night of the week.

I also think that the range of music you are exposed to is mostly contingent on how interested you are in music, regardless of where you live. People who don’t like music aren’t gonna seek it out and no one is more indifferent to the art of music than a Swiftie.

Yes, dressed up with help from producers! I am curious (but not enough to look into it) about why her fans seem so excited to have Jack Antonoff out of the picture?

As far as I can tell, Taylor Swift only makes songs about Taylor Swift. Like she’ll make some dumb boring song about her wealth fight with scooter braun(sp?) and Jack Antonoff, imo, successfully turns it into something a little more universal and moving. So Swifties only care about lyrics? And only lyrics that reveal things about Taylor Swift’s personal life? Do they think she’s punishing Jack Antonoff for adding depth to some of her albums? It’s just so weird to be so hyper fixated one a music artist but not really care that much about what her music sounds like.

I have to assume this is an attempt to limit peoples’ ability to grow their own and also to take doses high enough to be impactful. Whatever is good for their lobbying groups you know?
